kevin242
Okay here is the scenario. I have several 8bits but I decided to sell my 130xe to a nice guy I met on the usenet. The machine has not been used more than once or twice in over 10 years. Before I sell it of course I turn it on, run the built in diagnostic, goto basic type poke 710,0 and the screen goes from blue/white to black/white and then plug in missle command and play a game. Everything worked as it was supposed to. Now it has been two weeks and I get an email and the buyer is very upset because he says everything is purple!! He says wether he attaches the atari using the monitor cable/rf cable etc.. the colors are off. He thinks I tricked him and sold him a PAL XE but I know the thing is NTSC and I KNOW it worked fine. Any suggestions??? I seem to recall there was something cia or tia or something like that on the atari could be adjusted that effected the color? Could this be the problem any experience? Could something happen during delivery to cause this? Thank you for any advice you can offer kvn
Cybernoid
There is a potentiometer within the 130XE that controls the HUE. I had to adjust mine after doing the Super Video upgrade. For more info, try here: http://www.geocities.com/atarimods/sv130-1.html The color pot is shown in this picture: I am not sure that this will help, and I am not sure how this thing could have been loosened during shipment, but it may be useful. Also, he will have to open the machne up to look at & adjust this. Cheers, --Chris
kevin242
you know, this is what I was thinking of (it has been over 16 or 17 years since I thought about the inards of the 130xe). Thanks so much. kvn
