liquid_sky
Let's try this out. Most people would say Pac-man or E.T. is the worst game for the Atari 2600. Would you rather play them or the horrible game known as Hydilide, the uncontested worst game for the NES... or how about a rousing game of Crypto-logic for the Odyssey2? +-^CrossBow^-
hehe..would love to comment on this...but I haven't any of the games your talking about besides the 2600 ones... So I can't form an opinion on this one either way. As for 2600 games...I would hate to have to play combat as the big ole Bi-plane and I am not too fond of pac man on the vcs. I actually would play ET without any probs..since I know the patterns from screen to screen and generally don't fallin the holes unless I want to. Skatepunk60
i havent played any of the other games either but i love pac man with that annoying sound he makes and E T (getting a little off topic) what are you supposed to do in that game ive hade it for quite a few years and have played it about three times and cant figure out what to do besides fall in holes. If someone could help i would appreciate that thanks
Hakogame 箱亀
I'd rather play E.T. than Hydilide. (Sad Fact- There's a sequel to hydilide "Super Hidilide" I believe it's on the Genesis.)
Tempest
Hey I liked Hydilide. Of course I also like ET so maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. They're not the best games but they're fun a for a bit. I never did beat Hydilide... Tempest
ren.dhark
I you want to see the worst games, play the Intellivision games from CBS/Coleco (Donkey Kong, Mouse Trap ...) Günther
liquid_sky
..they also had a Saturn version i know of.. I hated it mainly because well.. the box was nice but you just run into everything, and the music.. ugh..and since nobody seems to know what Crytpto-Logic is ill paste from the o2 homepage: Crypto-Logic! - A cryptogram game. You enter in a word, a "random encryption cypher" scrambles it, and your opponent has to guess it. A really poor effort to start with, the game further suffers from the fact that the words can only be six letters long at maximum. The Odyssey² console box decribes it as a "mental blockbuster" where "your opponents have to out-think you... and the computer !" I don't know... I mean, I just can't picture Albert Einstein saying, "That General Relativity Theory thing was easy. But Crypto-Logic? That's hard!" As for E.T. Im not sure of any pages off the top of my head but I will look.. I like E.T. tho [ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: liquid_sky ]

It's almost impossible to figure the game out without the manual, but once you figure it out, it's actually not that bad (Okay, it's still pretty bad... but it's a lot better than just wandering around and falling in pits) --Zero
Scooterb23
Ok, would you rather play 2600 Mythicon and Froggo games, or shoot yourself in the head with a nailgun??
liquid_sky
Depends all on the size of the nail.. and if i can slip by with a Panda variation, at least you can make fun of their stupid name to ease some of the pain.

Joel D. Park
I thought Sea Hawk (Froggo) was ok. And as always, I'm a fan of E.T.
Jeffy Arensmeyer
No doubt. There are some clunkers out there for the NES (Friday the 13th, Zombie Nation, Hydlide, Bad Dudes, Tiger Heli, etc.), but the 2600 had it's fair share too. How about these for shear frustration; Fire Fighter Tax Avoiders Zaxxon ...and the list goes on. For me, a game only sucks if it looks bad and plays bad. These games looked average at best and played less than bad. Sure, E.T. and Pac-Man were lame representations of what they were supposed to be, but they were fun. I remember going to the record store the day Pac-Man came out and paying $49 for it. It didn't matter. I was one of the first people to have the famous Pac-Man at home. Games can look horrible, but if they play good and you can really get into the game, it becomes a great game, at least for me. ò¿ó
utamav91
Sorry, but back in the day, Zaxxon rocked!!! Bad games: Street Racer Pac Man Space War Othello Tax Avoider Dragster Choplifter (boooring) RealSports Soccer Demons-to-Diamonds
Joel D. Park
Hey, I kinda liked Bad Dudes.
Hakogame 箱亀
I agree with utamav91, Zaxxon Rules! I'm even considering getting personalised ZAXXON liscence plates.
JagDiesel
I quite enjoyed FireFighter on the 2600.. Cryptologic on the O2..go figure they'd do a game like that, what with the keyboard and all.. Personally.. Sid the Spellbinder on the Odyssey2 was a turd. Now spell Daddy..good..Now spell Dog..good..Now spell Blow up this turd of a game..good..Monster attack, put in Pick axe Pete... Malix
I'm sorry but I would rather play E.T. and pac-man at the same time for three hours straight than pick up John Elways Quarterback for the NES. That has got to be one of the most rancid games of all time.
liquid_sky
Man... that game was so bad, Zaxxon on 2600 was sad.. As for the o2, Sid was so stupid, the little game you play as a "reward" from spelling is more of a punishment. I dunno, i liked Pachinko on the o2 but i have heard bad things said about it
Joel D. Park
The commodore 64 had a great Zaxxon port as well as a Super Zaxxon Port. I used to play both those games a heck of alot.
Joel D. Park
By the way. I heard rumors, maybe even here, that many, maybe all Zaxxon Carts for the Atari 2600 had socketed Eproms instead of the regular guts that their other carts have... I don't know where I heard this, could it be true??
