Here's my first go with G2F, converting an Amstrad title (or loading?) screen to the A8. Simple to do but a little time consuming in filling and then removing the sprites/missiles (light blue) - can a line draw be put in?

Regards,
Mark

Aha... I didn't know the CPCs title...
So it really looks like a pixel exact remake... interesting..

This time I've tested what is possible without raster changes and no MCS-Like spreaded PM-underlay and to leave the border black...

The result is OK... i think.

Testament to the great tool it is!

The Amalka only took me around 2.5 hours, most of
that was spent getting the import colours right after
reducing the original gif to 8 colours using XnView.

Couple of things found when doing this (using v3.7.7.2):

1) In Win2KPro (with Dx9 installed) the zoom window
wasn't scrolling up/down properly.

2) Is there a way of cycling through your existing sprite positions
or are they not remembered? You practically have to re-site
colour and fill if you want to extend a previously done area
by a few pixels.

3) When setting a sprite, clicking on the image sets the top position,
but you should also be able set the bottom line by a shift or control
click rather than the height remaining constant?

Other than that, very useful indeed!

Regards,
Mark

Wrathchild Hey Mark, nice pic. You've beat me to the Que-Dex picture, that one's on my list of nice C64 pics to convert.. actually all of the Thalamus games have great title screens. I'll complete the Que-Dex picture shortly...

Can't say that I have experienced problems with the points you raised although I think that there was a thread for G2f development requests for Tebe to take on board..

Here's my WIP for Hunters Moon that I did a few months back...

Erm, I was offering this up for completion - personally
I think its quite tricky - but then I also thought the
'Tetris' C64 screen was hard too

I may try some more cartoon characters, but I have
some other coding to finish up - saving a game state to
flash cart 8)

Best Wishes,
Mark
