Rhindle The Red
Okay, I've seen a lot of numbers bandied about recently and it got me to thinking. How does everyone here count the number of carts they have? I for one go by title and manufacturer. Hence, a collection that consists of: Adventure - Atari text label Adventure - Atari picture label Championship Soccer - Atari Combat - Atari text label Donkey Kong - Coleco Donkey Kong - Atari Pele's Soccer - Atari Tank Plus - Sears text label would count as seven carts. I don't count label variations, but the same title from two publishers or the same game under two titles each count. My custom label carts don't count, either. Then it would be too easy to boost my numbers. For the record: I'm at 331 by this reckoning and 599 including variations and extras. (Great Caesar's Ghost! I had no idea I had so freakin' many extras. I gotta start trading more.)

Marco(2)
Same here, no label variations, just manufacturer variations. I'm at 1250 now Cheers, Marco
Albert
I try to keep track of unique titles and label variations separately as well (although they are stored together in my collection). However, I haven't been keeping track of these numbers very closely lately so let me meander over to my collection and start counting. ...time passes... Okay, this only counts the loose games in my 2600 collection, as all my boxed games are in my storage unit. I'm not a huge box collector, so loose carts & manuals are the bulk of my collection. I have a large collection of manuals stored in comic book sleeves with cardboard backing for each manual. Someday the bulk of these will find their way onto AtariAge. Unique Carts: 411 Additional Label Variations: 162 Total: 573 These are only NTSC releases. I generally only collect major label variations, like "PLOE POSITION" and Text, Picture, Silver, Red, stuff like that. At one point I was collecting minor label variations and easily had several hundred additional variations. And I have (literally) over a thousand duplicate 2600 carts, probably closer to 2000 (seriously). Many of these are commons, so I'm serious about tiling an entire bathroom with 'em someday.. And this is just one system I collect for. I also have sizeable collections for the 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit, Odyssey 2, Intellivision, ColecoVision, Vectrex, Vic-20, C64, and TI 99/4a. And just recently I started collecting for the Lynx (~30 titles) and Jaguar (42 titles), mainly as a result of AtariAge (although both of those are systems I owned as soon as they arrived on store shelves, but later sold for one reason or another). ..Al
