JagDiesel
Hey, the local game chain is trying to sell its classic game inventory, systems and all, to the highest bidder. they have several thousand 2600 games alone, plus tons of Intv, 52/7800, Jag, etc games and systems (including about 2 dozen NIB Tank Command and a NIB SQ Waterworld).. Would it be worth it for say $5000-$6000 range? Also, would anyone be interested?
Marco(2)
I guess it's worth it, but you need: the money the space the patience In the end, the patience may be the hardest part. I guess it could take years to get rid of the stuff again... That NIB Waterworld sure would be a great addition to any collection though! Cheers, Marco
Albert
What store is this and where are they located? You've got me curious. ..Al
Tempest
Are they the same old Oshea games or are they actually interesting titles? I'd like to know more about this too. Tempest
JagDiesel
Its a chain here in Phx, Games Plus.. The selection varies, alot of commons, but like I said, they have about a dozen NIB Tank Command, a dozen or so NIB Water Ski, and about everything you can think of 2600 wise, including a NIB Waterworld and a bunch of consoles and accessories. Plus they have a ton of goodies for ColecoVision and Intv (including several NIB Intv Computers and Music Keyboards).

Sounds like some "extremely rare" items are going to be dirt common pretty soon Cheers, Marco
Tempest
Yeah, remember your friends when your selling this stuff... Tempest
JagDiesel
Basically, its 4 people, including yours truly, that are constant customers who are bidding. Its verbal bids right now, but I can see having it in writing, kinda like a contract, when it gets down to the actual deal..that is, IF the owner's wife doesnt change her mind.. Albert
So are the bids already in the $5000 to $6000 range? I might be interested in bidding if I had a better idea of what's in the lot. ..Al
videotwit
This would be an interesting one to watch if it were on eBay... It would probably go much higher than anyone here would like, though. Keep us updated, will ya'?
JagDiesel
Albert, its not in the 5-6k range, but I figure thats about where it'll end..it is definitely worth it, but try to tell my wife that...
Wntermute
I'd help if I had the money, JD.. are the items from all of the Games Plus stores or just one of them?
Albert
How are they accepting bids for this? ..Al

Nukey Shay
Geez, I think Mattel got George for that much. j/k
Tempest
Actually that's a pretty good deal. The Keyboard is the holy grail of Intellivision items (right up there with the Tutorvision console). There's that Badlittledog guy again. Who is he? I want to smack him around.... Tempest

Hehehehe, I know what you're talking about. It's better to relax though. If you're patient enough almost every single game will be available mulitiple times. After being frustrated many times, I've found that the frustration of not being able to get a game only lasts that long. In fact, I'd say that not being able to get everything you want is one of the fun parts of collecting. If you could just go out and get everything... there's no fun in that! Tempest
I'm not really upset (a little miffed maybe), I wonder how many people feel the same way about me when I win all those proto auctions? Your right about most games coming around again. I think I may have already found another 5200 Battlezone proto through a friend. Although I've never forgiven myself for letting that 5200 Tempest prototype slip through my fingers... Tempest

Trust me, that too will show up again, eventually. There's only a couple of really one/two/three-of-a-kind items out there. When you think of it, the collectors community is really, really small. Only a handful of people are in the market for the items you're talking about. Cheers, Marco
Tempest
True enough. When they were first discovered we thought there was only one Super Pac-Man, Asteroids, Frisky Tom, and Tempest protos. Turns out there are at least 5 Super Pac-Man's, 3 Asteroids, 4 Frisky Tom's, and 4 Tempest's. And these are just the ones we know of. How many others are out there in someones attic or basement?
