jstefans
I don't know if this is old news to everyone but it looks like Atari made it's way onto Antiques Roadshow sometime back. See for yourself: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/roadshow/app...me52/index.html Just thought it was interesting so I'd pass it on. Cheers... Albert
Oh my, that's a copy of Quadrun sitting right in front of the 2600. Pretty cool, thanks for passing that along! ..Al

Tempest
I got a Chase the Chuckwagon for $3 in a thrift shop once. But that's the rarest thing I've ever found and it only happened once. I've had friends that find stuff like that on a weekly basis. It's just not fair! Tempest
videotwit
My Chase the Chuckwagon was $3 as well. I also got Boing for free (which wasn't too bad!). I wish some more of those types of finds would start popping up again!
h.e.r.o
On my way to Wyoming last week, I stopped at an antique store in Ogallala, Nebraska and found a Sears heavy sixer with Combat, Space Invaders, Frogger, and Metriods all in the box with 12 controllers and 6 paddles, one in the box!!! Bad news, though: the whole set was $100, and if I wanted a set of paddles I so desparately needed, I'd have to buy the WHOLE set! I asked the lady up front if I could buy one of the paddles but she said, "No, have to buy the whole set." She would'nt cut me a deal! She lost a sale there. Rhindle The Red
I know I've told this one before. My best deal: River Patrol - $1.
Joel D. Park
My best deals were... Star Wars: The Arcade Game for 2.00 from an online game store. And a lot of games I bought off ebay which didn't list the games, I paid right around 1.00 each for the games and they included, the RS Football PRototype, and every U.S. game game ever, like Raft Rider, Entombed etc, in the Fancy cases. Then there is the huge boxed lot I bought from a flea market in Denver, CO. Close to 250 boxed games for 150 bucks. Some nice rares in there, though it was split between a friend and I. bcprs1
What I find funny is that they list pac-man as $5-$10. I'd love to find the sucker that would pay $10 for pac-man
san-d-2000
My best deal was a boxed X-Man for $1.50, btw this happened twice
Tempest
How? Are you just the luckiest person on earth or do you frequent old porno shops? Tempest
san-d-2000
I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which for some sort of reason is the X-Man Capital of the world btw, I did read a story somewhere about an American Collector who visits all the porn shops looking for Mystique stuff. Tempest
Oh that explains it. PAL X-Man carts are way easier to get than the NTSC version. I've heard there are tons of X-Man carts over there, it must be because of the red light districts your famous for (nudge nudge wink wink). I'm not sure I'd want to be spotted going in and out of porno shops just to find a few rare 2600 carts. Tempest
Jeffy Arensmeyer
What's the deal with the boxes sitting on each side of the television? Those don't look like the traditional boxes. They look like some type of revised graphics that never made it to the market. Also, what are the games to the left? Are they commons or rare early releases? Is the fourth game from the right Adventure? What is the Parker Bros. game that's propped up? ò¿ó
Tempest
It's hard to see but I believe those boxes are for the Japanese Atari 2800. I've seen a few of those boxes around, but I've never seen an actual cart. Yes that's Adventure and the PB game is Spiderman. It's hard to tell but I think those games to left are Raiders of the Lost Ark, Haunted House, and some text labeled game (can't tell). The games on the right are Chase the Chuckwagon, Beamrider, Tooth Protectors, Adventure, Missile Command, SQ: Waterworld, Smurfs Save the Day, Bearenstain Bears, and some cart with it's label ripped off. The games in the middle are Quadrun and Asteroids, and Pac-Man is plugged into the system. Is it just me or does the guy on the right look like a massive tool? jstefans
Wow, I've started off quite the discussion! I thought it was pretty neat seeing all those rare cartridges. And, yes, Tempest, the guy on the right definitely looks like a massive tool. I'd really like to see the interview. I'll look into finding out which show the interview was done on. They might show reruns or something. I'd like to know the conversation surrounding the cartridge with the label ripped off. Tempest
Whoops, your right about Starmaster. I can tell now by the main label, I just saw the blue green label and assumed it was the circuit graphics for Beamrider. That could be combat, but it's impossible to be sure. Alex
My best deals were probably two Quadruns. One was $5 with manual, the other was $1. Both had near-perfect labels. The funny thing is I bought the first Quadrun when I first got into the net-collecting scene. I had seen VGR's rarity list which is why I offered the guy $5 for it, but I still thought I was overpaying. I had no idea how rare it really was. I was just as excited about the ER Marine Wars I found that week. Hah!

hurt
and about the game boxes they do look like 2800 boxes to me also.
