Secret Agent prototype

A friend of mine has been bugging me trying to find out what his prototype cartridge of Secret Agent (Data Age) is worth, so does anyone happen to know what the average price for this cartridge is? It doesn't have to be an accurate price, as long as I know how many digits there are The cartridge itself is in pretty bad shape I'm afraid, with quite a bit of label damage. In fact, the front part of the label that folds over the front of the cartridge (Like in other Data Age games) is torn right off. The game itself works of course (Despite the fact that the game itself sucks).

And while I'm at it, I might as well ask what his Atari Video Cube is worth. I haven't seen this game for sale anywhere, but he hasn't given in to any of my offers (I actually enjoy the game). Luckily, this one is in VERY good condition.

A Secret Agent prototype (assuming it's not a fake) is probably worth about $400 or more. I know I'd pay that much for one. There are only two known to exist so far (three with your friends I guess).

Are oyu talking about a regular Atari Video cube or a prototype? The regular cart is worth about $45, a prototype might fetch $200 since it's a fairly rare game. I have but it doesn't have a case.

Is your friend interested in selling it?

I doubt that it's a fake, though I have no real proof that it isn't. The label looks authentic at least... I could probably get him to scan the cartridge (or borrow it to scan it myself). It's also been sitting in his collection for about 15 years, and he can't remember quite how he managed to get it. I'm not sure if he's interested in selling it or just finding out what it's worth, but if you'd like, I can pass your email address on to him and see what he wants.

As for his Atari Video Cube, it's a production run cartridge. He doesn't like the game itself very much, so maybe I can trade him a bunch of stuff for it.

Ok, let me know what happens. While I'd love to get my hands on it (and so would any other prototype collector), I wouldn't want to pressure your friend into anything he doesn't want to do (I hate pushy people).

Even if you just get us a scan that would be great. I've always been interested in this game since I heard of it's exsistance 3 years ago. Back then it was more of a rumor until someone finally dumped and proved it's exsistance a year ago.

I'm afraid your friend is a victim of bad timing though. The value has gone down a bit (just a smidgen) since Atari2600.com is selling copies of this game at the CGE.

It's basically a ripoff of Kaboom, except there's stuff you want to avoid rather than catch. I always have trouble figuring out what paddle it's supposed to use though.

Please do. Though, is it a "production" label, or a prototype/loaner label?

It's the lab loaner label.
