Just tried this game after setting up the light gun for Atari800Win Plus... It's got some nice graphics, but the game itself is kind silly. Why can't you shoot directly at the enemy cars? Instead, you have to shoot one of 5 directional arrows to shoot from your police car. And to speed up or down you have to shoot arrows forward or backward.

Sounds like a review is required for TAT! I think Crime Buster is an excellent game and is, along with Crossbow, the best light gun game for the XE.

 

Controls are indeed a bit tricky, but you'll get used to them after a few tries. I think that the "directional arrow" scheme was implemented to give the game a more "realistic" feel. You are not, after all, supposed to be shooting perps while floating directly above them.

 

I personally think that the "highway" screens are the weakest in the game; the others in the game more than make up for them, though.

I bloody love this game!! Supposedly there is a trick one can perform that allows one to completely bypass the car scenes. Check on the DP tricks and easter eggs part of their rarity guide. Thanks again davidcalgary29 for that cart.

I like the game, but I *HATE* those highway sequences. Honestly - they're irriitating ... IMO.
