iesposta
This Atari 1986 Hangman and the third release of Atari's 1977 Star Ship must come from a parallel universe because they completely break the (loose) rules of Atari design in font size, centering, etc. All rights seved and/or reseved. BassGuitari
1986 Hangman is a perfect example of the weirdness that came out of Atari Corp. with their 2600 reissues. Lots of printing errors, inconsistent formatting and layout, incorrect controller information, etc. Great fun to collect! The "Picture Label" version of Star Ship, I can't explain. It came out during the latter days of Atari Inc., which generally had very consistent label conventions. Why the game was ever reissued to begin with is a mystery anyway, especially at the time it was ('82 or '83; it would make sense if Atari Corp. did it later on, since they reissued just about everything...usually with some cheap, goofy, error-filled label ). iesposta
What picture label version? What I posted _IS_ the picture label version. That is how weird it is! The first two releases were foil text label, with the first one being a numbered label cartridge.

iesposta
Cool. I have box 2. That fake cart uses the artwork from the box. I wonder why they just had black, yellow, white cart ?
roadrunner
Good info. I seen that cart scan/mockup on another site.
Philflound
I'm trying to keep current with what is up there. Been having technical issues with adding new pages to the site. There are very few variations I list that I actually don't have scans of. I began to eliminate them altogether and figured if they actually came into light, I'd just add them back. BassGuitari
What picture label version? It's the one that iesposta posted above (see post #11). Yeah, it's not a picture, but it's usually been considered the "picture" label variation for Star Ship. That second one Roadrunner posted (post #15) looks exactly like something Atari Corp. would have released. Complete with wrong controller info. Too bad it's fake.
Philflound
With the invention of printing your own quality labels, I doubt many times some of the variations that people claim are out there. Unless something is sealed or I can verify it first hand, I don't like adding any variations that I can't confirm are real. I may take the word of an established collector, or if I see the variation a few times being offered. It's too easy to fake things now. hookem
actually here is a picture with an auction if you want to buy one http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Atari-2600-Console-48-Games-2-Driving-Control-20758806.html Thanks, I bought this. It looked like it included the BW manual, too... so on the off chance I ever find the box, I'll have the rest Plus with the Jr. I liked the provenance.
