atari70s Posted August 16, 2001 Share Posted August 16, 2001 This is TEMPEST the king of protos. I am getting a really odd atari 2600. Its a 4 Switch woodgrain system. Im getting it from the original owners who took very good care of the system and 3 intresting points have me wondering about the system 1.) There is no Serial number on the base of the unit ( was told it was bought like that back in 1981. ) 2.) there are 2 channel switches one located next to the Diffulty reads (2 or 3) and another one on the bottom base reads ( Channel Selector X or Y) whats htat about 3.) without the serial number (sticker) there is a bumpy engraving on the system that reads 38 1 the 38 is in a bigger font and the 1 is in a smaller font on the bottom of the system .
