You are totally right. I'm 30 years old, and when I was a little boy there was nothing that could touch Atari 2600 for all the fun you could have, and there were so many different kinds of games out, that you could find the type you like to play.

Maybe because virtually all newer games are huge and require a large amount of time to complete, where as older games are bite sized and is quite possible to master them.

Maybe Newer games can be likened to movies and classics can be likened to you favorite snack-counter candy. The movie requires more of your time, but the candy can be enjoyed again and again for an even longer time.
