Few minor differences. There are no Minesweepers, Minelayers, Troop Transports, or Aircraft Carriers. You can only send out one ship at a time for a total of four on the screen at once (none of the little groups of three like in the Intellivision version), battles consist of one on one ship battles. And last, the weapons are all the same strength, and each ship has a fixed amount of times it can be hit.
