Nateo
Is the PhillyClassic as exciting as the CGE? I know it's probably not, but is it exciting and fun anyway? I may go to the next PhillyClassic! (my first classic gaming convention!) Do any of you guys have any plans to go?
bangles66
When is Philly?? Philly is close enough I can drive in a few hours so I'd like to go so if anyone has info on where, when or who to contact that would be great. thanks
+Cafeman
I went to the Philly Classic this past spring. Click here to check out my little tour -- http://cafeman.www9.50megs.com/atari/phillyexpo2001/ You may see somebody you know or who is referred to here at AtariAge! Tempest, the DP guys, Tom Zjaba, Randy from Syzygy, even the Caféman is seen. And some home-brew guys. Maybe you've seen my documentation of the show already -- the Atari sections of my site, including the Philly stuff, still get the most hits! Anyway, it sure would be great if they'd get a bigger room for the next Philly -- it was crowded and hot! I plan on making it an annual pilgrimege. Joel D. Park
You are correct sir. A bigger room would make a great thing much better. Philly was really great. I was really glad I got to go.
Tempest
Philly was great but that many people crammed into one tiny room... I swear it had to be 95 degrees in there with all those people pushing up agianst each other. If they had half the room that the CGE had it would have been perfect. I'm looking forward to it next year. Hopefully I'll have my game done by then. Tempest
Joel D. Park
Tempest! I want to reserve my copy of your game Right Now! Before it's too late.
Tempest
Sorry, the initial run of special edition copies is sold out. You'll have to settle for the not so special version (without all the profanities and thinly veiled sexual refrences) which should be out by the next Philly Classic. Joel D. Park
Aww man, I'm right in front. In the Oarnge Atari Shirt and the Marroon and Grey Hat. Am I one goofy looking Redneck or what.
Smitty
Hey Albert and Alex, maybe we should throw a show in San Antonio. We have the Alamo, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Riverwalk, and a bunch of rednecks Plus we could sell tons of stuff! Smitty

That's not a bad idea, between the three of us we could probably put together a decent show. Who knows how many people would attend, but it wouldn't hurt to try. ..Al
+-^CrossBow^-
I have it on good faith that the Philly Classic 3 will be the weekend of April 26 & 27th. It will be at the Adam's Mark Hotel off I76 just off of Monument Rd. I wish I could attend but I don't see that as being possible, especially since I convined the Wife that we needed to go to Vegas for the CGE2k2 next year instead. So for now this is the best I can do. Have fun all.
+-^CrossBow^-
I could get a plane ticket to Austin easier than Vegas...so I would definitely try and show. I have nothing of interest to show but I could dump some carts for people hehe. However, I wouldn't mind aquiring a few games that I do not yet have either. I just wish there were more collectors in my state (Oklahoma). As I have never seen any kind of classic game show done here either. Oh well. Austin it is!!! Albert
If we had a show in Austin I would have a *massive* table setup with tons of classic gaming hardware/software available for sale and trading. Plus Alex and I would probably have a few computers setup with AtariAge running so people could root around the site. And maybe sell some AtariAge merchandise, like t-shirts and underwear. This is what we plan to do next year for CGE if all goes well, but a show in Austin would make it a *hell* of a lot easier for us. Not that we wouldn't also go to CGE2K2! ..Al
+-^CrossBow^-
hehe..I am sure my wife would love to "Discover" AtariAge boxers...heheheh.. I just thought about the easy way for me to dump carts on the go if I ever visit the shows in the future. I have an old P120 laptop that would be perfect for connecting to my 7800 and dump that way. It has WinME on it which I had no problems dumping from in the past.
atari70s
ALEX I was thinking maybe a November Gaming expo in NJ i try to set up an location wehre its far enough away from phili that it gets mew on lookers Maybe the MEDOLANDS in Rutherford NJ would be good They have Computer espos 3 tiems a year. Kinda sucks thou htey dont have anything good and never any contests. but its okm too look for Cenipede on CD . I think it would be a big Hit ALEX. plus its in my back yard so i can get to it. This woudl get people from NYC and NY State. many tat wouldnt be able to get to MASS. or Phili. what do you think
Smitty
Isn't it cold in NJ in November? It might get below 90 degrees here in texas by then So what do you say Albert and Alex? I'm game for a November/December show. That give us about around 3 months to plan it. Smitty

Smitty I think you're crazy. However, it's certainly doable if it's nothing larger than renting a room at a hotel for a day. I'm not sure having it in the Winter is a great idea since I can't imagine most people like traveling in the winter, even if it's to a warmer part of the country (and even Austin can get pretty chilly in December). The other problem with November/December is people are too wrapped up with the holidays. I think sometime in January/February would be better. Free from holidays and we'd have more time to plan. I bet space would be cheaper in the winter, though. Maybe we should ask the PhillyClassic guys for some advice on everything they had to do to put on their show..? I'm certainly game (no pun intended) for it, don't know what Alex's feelings are. ..Al
atari70s
Well you can talk to John about it alex it dont really snow till december or january . but October might be the best. October its still 60 to 80 degrees still (last 7 or 8 years or so) . but October would be the best month to hold it . Yet far enough away form Christmas that youll get tons of people . With the area highly populated im sure it woudl be a big sucess If you need phone #'s for hotels i know a few GOOD ones around. one i can see IDEAL for a show like this my question is Sherritan or Marriot? one location im thinking there are both within 3 blocks and its not a big city and excellable from 4 MAJOR HIGHWAYS IN THE AREA . i have this all thought out . the highways are Gardenstate parkway ( for north and south travelers ) Route 80 for east and west drivers) Route 17 for loacal diveres route 46 for people traveling east but it is perfect for my NJ peopel you know where all those Major Highways meet . What do you think
