Charlie_
I was going through my collection last night and I was suprised to find I own an extremely rare Lochjaw by Apollo. I was wondering how much do extremely rare carts sell for on e-bay? Or what do collectors offer as trade for a rare game? I have not been collecting new carts for years. So, I'm very much "new" to this scene. Thanks. Charlie
MattyXB
Wow, great find. Its a earlier release (maybe Prototype) of Shark Attack with some diffrents. Nice find. Will you sell it? Matthias
Alex
Nice find! Just to clarify, it's not a prototype, but it is very rare. Apollo only made it for a very short while, then they changed the name to Shark Attack to avoid legal problems conflicting with the movie "Jaws". The game itself has some very subtle differences, but the value is really only to the collector, as Shark Attack is pretty much the same thing. We should have a scan for our archives soon, as someone just offered to send that in.
Tempest
If you want to see some of the minor differences (mostly just some bug fixes) got over to the Digital Press review page. They did a review onit and showed the differences. Tempest
Charlie_
Yeah that was me :-). I'll have it all scanned tonight. Charlie
Smitty
Hey I need that cart in my collection... I would pay $150 for anyone who has a spare or I would trade heavily for it. (DPG lists it at $80 and a 9 in rarity) Cheers..... Smitty
Tempest
Yeah I need that one too. I know Ianoid has one, but I don't think he wants to sell it, he'd rather trade it. Tempest
Wntermute
Shark Attack is bug-fixed? Mine must be a bad copy since the score font screws up sometimes and there's a spot on the right side where the diver can get stuck easily.
Tempest
I didn't say it was a very good bug fix. Just imagine how buggy Lochjaw was. Tempest
Charlie_
Lochjaw may be buggy, but I always enjoyed playing it. Yes, even when I had no idea it was rare. :-) After, what, 2 or 3 levels the shark is just way too fast... If Shark Attack is different I'd love to find a copy of it. Wntermute
Chaz, I have a spare Shark Attack (original label, minus the end label) if you're interested.
