Questions on Star Raiders and Burger Time

a) What was the relation between Atari and Sears on Star Raiders? Did they co-release it, did Sears re-release, import or what did they do?

 

b) Was Burger Time VCS 2600 on sale in the shops for the first time in 1982 or 1983?

(an exact date?)

I don't know much about "a" but the following web site shows that BurgerTime was released in 1983.

I assume that Sears released Star Raiders around the same time that Atari did. I don't know the details of Sears' arrangement with Atari, but I would guess that the Sears version of Atari games came out simultaneously with the Atari titles. Atari manufactured these games for Sears, so I imagine they'd do a run of carts with the Atari labels and then do a batch with the Sears labels. Perhaps the Atari carts were available a bit earlier because of this, but probably not by much.

 

Does anyone have more information on the Atari-Sears relationship?
