StanJr
Make no mistake, programming for the 2600 is a bear(as I am CONSTANTLY discovering), the code is complex and the restrictions and limitations are unending. However, also recall that this code is twenty plus years old. Tech has advanced light-years since then and modern code, while more accessible here and there, is asked to do way more than the code you are trying to crack. Keep at it. They wouldn't have made so many Atari games if the code was flat impossible to manage. Nick Bensema has a wonderful all code version of Adventure that fully details each line's function on his site. www.io.com/~nickb/atari/doc/adventure.txt Its a good read.
