Hey all i have a new Project for the CGE . I plan on building a car made out of atari parts. This means atari cart cases will be in high demand . Any Combat carts Pacman carts u can send me would be a big help . the Carts will be the biggest chore of all besides the Man power to help. The amount of carts need is not certain a few 1,000's for now to get me started would be good. I am looking for COMBAT, PACMAN, and maybe ASTEROIDS. who can help me on this . this will be a high costing project for me i know but its somethign i think needs to be done. i will make a diagram of the car shortly. and show you all it. I will be buying a car riping it down to the metal chasis . and keep the firewall and engine cage. other than that the steering colum the wheels and gas tank this will be an all Atari cart machine. this will a long task im sure but my CGE 2020 i hope to have it completed. might be sooner. now if i can the permit from the state to allow it to be driven ( liek a classical car.) then i can drive to Phili classic and CGE other wise ill have to trailer it on over and it can go on display.

Who's gonna help me build it i need 2600 carts and 7800 carts to do this nothing too rare maybe 8 bit carts for bumpers (different color) andfor trim (side decals) And i need osmeone to help me find an Atari Hood Ornament

Sorry if I'm a little negative about the subject... but have you thought this through very well? I mean, this will take a hell of a lot of time and effort. Personally, I'd rather see you do something that would more benefit the community with that time (Such as a new hardware idea, or a new game or something).

Also, I'm not sure cartridges would be strong enough to support an entire car... even if you used the RF shielding from Heavy Sixer's, I'd still be worried the whole thing would fall apart. Do you plan to build the engine too, or just the chassis?

Again, I don't want to deter you from your project or anything... I just don't think it's a terribly feasible idea. On the plus side, the more people use E.T., Combat, and Asteroids cartridge for strange projects like this, the rarer they will get!

ZERO,

hi thanks for the interest. nah i wouldnt even dare a chasis out off carts thats nuts man. nah im gonna get a frame egnine. gas tank and all go from there. after the basics are taken care off ( that of a REAL car )then i can start on the Roll Cage piping before i start using melting carts to the pipes and carts together from the body i plan on the inside of teh car as atari items . but not the seats its not gonna be meant for everyday highway driving and i doubt that it will ever be stret legal , but it will be a work of art.

I do, do alot of community work in the area and you leaked it out of me im learning and starting to delelope an new Home Brew game for the 2600 series . it will be some adventure type game. i dont know the exacts yet but its a work thats slowly in process.

but this is some side object i plan to do as fun and make it interesting for others to see somethign that would go with the atari community and for the art community.

so my big projects are:

the car

my new Homebrew game.

going into the police force training come MAY.

and then also living on my atari collecting

while helping the community at the same tiem

i think i can safely say 50,000 was a high amount of carts im thinking now more along the lines of 2 or 3 thousand start off with and if more would be needed go from there. i dont want to cause alarm to the highly collectible COMBAT lovers out there. but this is just to conception of this idea it will be a few years before i have the space funds time and the people power to do this.

I normally support any wierd project like that, but I'm afriad that would totally cut down on the number of homeberews and stuff that could be produced. Common carts are in short supply right now. Why don't you do everything with posters or just get some great artist do copy the carts or something else and enamel over them or something.. If all those common carts go to waste we will loose out on alot of great homebrews.

Thanks,

Joel D. Park
