Raiders Of The Lost Ark - just curious...

I do remember solving the game but I think I was able to solve it only because of us played the game together and worked together to try to figure things out. We used to have 3 or 4 players playing this game where someone would control Indy while the rest were hard at work trying to figure out what to do next.

This approach also helped out a lot when we played Infocom games on the Atari 8-Bit computer.

Yeah I remember solving it way back when I was like 13. There wasnt any hint books like there are now...or at least I didnt have one. A friend of mine and I spent a day dedicated to solving the puzzle...from what I remember the end experience was underwelming. When you solve the riddle it almost looks like the game restarts. Just that stupid screen with the ark at the top. I think how-ever high the little elevator thing is your standing on determined how well you did....*yawn*

Great question! I remember beating the game when I was 12-13 too. It took an entire weekend of fiddling with it, making maps, trying to figure out what certain things were or why they showed up when I held certain things (The Map Room gave me fits for hours until I realized it looked like the overhead Mesa MAp).

Then, I had to do it all over again the next weekend when I had a friend by who didn't believe me.

Me and a few pals years ago completed it, we thought it was a fantastic game and had fun doing stuff.

Fact:Where I lived in Manchester UK, the local store stopped selling Raiders because they thought all the copies were bugged because they couldnt start the game (They didnt know of the second joystick) I remember see a whole load of kids and the store women around the Atari stand trying to get the thing to work, so because of this we got Demons to Diamonds instead (A highly underated game I think) which stop working so we then replaced it for Raiders (They were both going for £10, the rest were £30!)...then we really enjoyed it (No bugs, as the shop thought LoL

Ohhh The map room. I remember how much trouble we had with that room!! For some reason when we looked at the symbol we kept thinking it was of Indy holding something! Check it out and see if you see that too! I remember having to wait and wait for the sun to come out to try the next idea we had... then when that didnt work... Wait some more. When we finally figured out you had to be holding that...Errrr... Whatever it was. We were estatic... Just knew we were getting SOOO close to the great ending.

I have need over 10 years to complete it.

Ok I have played it as child, and then we have sell the Atari and all games.

We have never finish this game. We were on the right place, but we never jump down, so we never reach the arc.

Then I have buy me again an Atari with games in the 90. Then I have try it again and try. Then I have the idea and I have done it.

I was just ten years old when the game came out and I just had the game for two days, when a friend of mine asked me if he could play it over the weekend, and I let him, so when the weekend was up, I went over to his house to pick it up and he told me he had beatin it and how he did it before I could say don't tell me.
