Take a look at this major typo on ebay

I dunno... I've really been looking for a M*A*S*H cartridge... maybe I should go for it.

Actually, it says "do not bid" because apparently it was listed twice... are you sure the price is a typo, or is this guy just an idiot?

I'd bid on it...But he's asking too much for shipping!

Seriously,

I dont get it tho. He listed the 999,999.99 first and he put not to bid on it...But its not like he went back and added it to the item description or it would say that in the description itself. Says something like " Seller added the following:" and gives the date and time if you go back and do that. Just doesnt make sense. He's either an idiot or has something up his sleeve.

It's been a while since I've listed anything on eBay, but I believe as long as someone hasn't yet bid on an item you can change the auction description without that "Seller added the following:" appearing. I've done that a few times when I realized I mistyped something. However, there's simply no way "999,999.99" was a typo. It could be that the seller changed the initial price for this auction when he realized it was listed twice. Now, why he simply doesn't cancel the auction is beyond me. He probably doesn't realize that can be done, given that he has zero feedback and this is probably the first auction he's ever setup.

Ah, that makes sense. In fact, that's probably exactly what happened. If you check his other auctions, the same thing is there with a $13 starting bid, which sounds about right. Doesn't anyone read the instructions anymore? I mean, if he knows how to edit his auctions, how can he not know how to cancel them? Seems like it would be easier to me...

Looks like the Insertion Fee is only $3.30. However, if someone actually put in a bid for that amount and the auction ended, the Final Value Fee would be $12512.82. Of course, you wouldn't actually be responsible for that amount if the high bidder didn't cough up the $999,999.00.
