voy
No, Atari 1450XLD was never released... It was only a prototype machine; 1450XLD and 1400XL projects were canceled by Jack Tramiel in 1984. You can find more info about these machines at these links: http://www.atarimuseum.com/computers/8BITS...ld/1450xld.html , http://www.atarihq.com/atcomp/1450mem.html... +davidcalgary29
A few in-house dev. models were built, though, and have found their way into a number of collectors' hands. I've never seen a working 1450XLD, although a few people on these boards have 1400XLs (with modems and, I think, the voice module).
Bryan
Anyone have that 1450docs.pdf file that's missing from atarimuseum? -Bry
atari70s
the guy i got the mogul maniac that i made note of here many times has a 1450xld in his basement and a xl-1090 thing. ( its like a big cube box with a few plugs in the back) not sure what it is. but he says he was gonna toss it out but since he kept my email asked me if i would be interested. i figured id run it by you all first see if it was anything worth taking or not
Bryan
Well, it's unreleased hardware, so it certainly has collector value even if you can't do much with it. -Bry
atari70s
the 1090 doesnt ring a bell to me what that was does anyone remember. well let me see if he is right that it is a 1450 but he was on with the cart i got that not much is known about it. the 1090 sounds like it might be a power center or something
Tempest
The 1090 was an expansion box. It held cards that did various things. Only a few cards were ever completed, but you really cant do much with them anyway since no software took advantage of them. The cards are even harder to find then the box. I would LOVE to get my hands on a 1090 someday... Tempest
atari70s
tempest ill see what happens. i knows he has them someplace and the 1450 should be near the top of the stuff in teh basement so ill see what happens. he told me to make an offer since he just wants to clear it out. what would be fair you think. i dont want to rob him ( not that he cares i think). he just wants it to go to a good home. what you think is fair

walter_J64bit
I know you can make a 1200XL into a 1450XLD as far as the RAM is contern.
