Genki
Finally found one at Meijer and I got to try it out. It was OK but while playing Pitfall there seems to be a bit of graphical glitches. Such as when Harry falls through the hole to underground passage, you could see a light green block on one side of the hole. And the trees in the background seems to redraw very slowly when you go to the next screen. I took mine apart to see what it has. It's got 2 black blob on the mainboard so it will be a while before anyone can figure if the system is truely 2600 hardware or not.
Charlie_
Yeah, I agree, it's OK. There are graphical glithches here and there. The sound is not exact to the 2600. Tennis and Ice Hockey are very good on this unit. If you plug it direct to your TV a/v inputs the screen will be too bright. It must be plugged in to a VCR's a/v inputs. mos6507
Did the Colecovision or Intellivision 2600 adapters have these glitches? If companies were able to clone the 2600 20 years ago don't you think if this were an attempt at a gate-level 2600 clone it would be a bit more accurate? Genki
If it was any different, it wouldn't even be a true clones. Maybe I should rip out the AV cable, plug in the RF modulator and run a 100' long RF cable to my TV. Maybe with the classic interference, glitches wouldn't be noticeable. I image Coleco would have put a lot more effort into doing a good clone back then, then Toymax would have done today. I doubt they where aiming this at the hard core collector, so perfect accuracy probably wasn't a big issue. Dan
