Since the PAL version is dated much later than what we assume the final NTSC rom to be (91 actually), I assume it was just a straight conversion job. I didn't think they would add anything. So the fact that they're only 3% different doesn't surprise me.

3% is a very little difference for a PAL conversion, usually it's about 10-20%. So I suppose they only changed the framerate and the colors, but didn't adapt the game speeds.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was a half assed conversion. This was done REALLY late in the 2600 game. It is however, the final PAL version (you can tell by the EPROM label) and not some programmer fooling around. This was the best Atari was going to do.

 

How does it play vs. the NTSC one?
