Mister VCS
I know Atari stopped supporting the 2600 in 1991, but was there an official press-release or a concret date? Another question: was Atari moving from his headquarter in 1984 when Tramiel bought it from Warner?

I highly doubt that Atari would have announced they were dropping support for the 2600. Most companies don't really want to draw attention to the fact that they're dropping support for a particular piece of hardware or software. Such an announcement will naturally cause sales of that product to drop, probably dramatically. And there will always be someone to complain about it. Sometimes it does happen, such as with the Dreamcast, and you can see how quickly that market shrank. ..Al
Lemmi
I got a poster from a magazine for the Saturn and it had the years on the top and the system sticking out of the ground saying R.I.P and in the article it said Sega will stop supporting the Saturn
