liquid_sky
The Fat Albert hack is brilliant. It makes fast food more fun, and I play it more than fast food.. somethin bout the "mouth" in fast food always was disturbing
Joel D. Park
Fat Albert is one of the homebrews I picked up from Hozer. It's definately cool, and the artwork replacing the Burp and stuff are pure genius.
Joel D. Park
I wouldn't vote as best homebrew, but maybe best HACK of the year. If you concider Venture 2 a graphic hack and not a whole new game, I'd say it's probably the Hack of the Year though.. It is totally redone, and the manual makes it AWESOME. DaveM
Well, I guess this is as good a time as any to finally jump into this message board... Glad to see you all liked the game! The graphics were pretty much just plucked from the cartoon. I found some images on the net, resized them a bit, printed them out on some graph paper, and went to work on it. I just wish I could've done better with the head you control during the game itself, but there's only so much you can do with an image that's only 8 pixels wide. Anyway, thanks again for the compliments!

slapdash
Jess: No, as far as I know NOONE is showing these... It seems that Bill Cosby is essentially disavowing the show for some reason. It would be a natural for Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon or Comedy Central, you'd think...
ubersaurus
Think, if you created Fat Albert, wouldn't YOU want to disavow it? ;p

+Cafeman
I saw an episode of Fat Albert on cable within the last half year. It even had a junkyard band song and an episode of the Brown Hornet! It was on one of those family oriented channels that also shows Dr. Quinn. Anyway, Fat Albert makes the game all that much more interesting! Kudos! Cafeman Jr just played it for half an hour and everytime he beat a level he'd say "hey hey hey!" (he is 6 yrs old). Buy JellO! Jess Ragan
I agree. It gets my vote for the best 2600 homebrew of the year. The sprites are so well drawn... Fat Albert looks like he was plucked right out of the cartoon! Telesys should have had the good sense to add the license to the game when they were designing it. Maybe if that had happened, Bill Cosby wouldn't be so critical of video games today. By the way... is anyone showing old episodes of Fat Albert on television these days? They should. I've heard rumors of a live-action film, but bleh, who wants that? The original is still the best. JR P.S. So, who's up for a sequel starring The Brown Hornet?
Jess Ragan
I've got a good idea why... the NAACP was probably giving him a hard time about the "hey-bah man-bah" guy. Was that Mushmouth or Big Dumb Donald? It seems like Cosby's lost his comedic touch in his old age. He's went from great comedy albums and a classic television series, to a pretty good cartoon, to an all right sitcom, to a boring, predictable sitcom and a really crappy cartoon. He's so worried about influencing kids these days that he's afraid to be funny. JR P.S. Mental note... verify what station Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids are on (my guess is ABC Family). liquid_sky
Ive always been a fan of Bill Cosby, and I think I have some of an idea on how his humor deteriorated. It seems that after he lost his son to murder, that he began to concentrate on being more of an influence for children, in a way to possible gain back what ehe lost in his son. This is only my theory, but it seems to make sence to me. I found This article online about a possible return of Fat Albert.. lets hope so. StanJr
AWESOME! I'll never play Fast Food again, its Fat Albert all the way! Expert work. However, I must come to the Cos' defense. After the murder of his son, Cosby lost something, some of the magic that made his early years so great (like liquid_sky says). Bill Cosby is one of my personal heroes. I had the honor of going to a Cosby routine this past year. He was still Bill Cosby, but he is not what he once was. Cosby has ALWAYS been about helping children (hence the very existence of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids), but after he lost his son, his mission intensified. Cos is still doing great work, just not what he once did. And for the record, Mush Mouth was the "o-be-kay-be" guy. Dumb Donald had the green t-shirt and the pink sock hat with eye holes. +Cafeman
Dumb Donald? I thought that was Weird Harold?
StanJr
Nope, Weird Harold was the tallest of the bunch, and always wore the old sport jacket. Quick roll call for you: Fat Albert: guess who. Bill:The "common" looking kid, usually in a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Russel: The shortest of the bunch, always with the BIG winter coat and hat with flaps. "Fat Albert, you like a teacher in an empty schoolroom, no class." Bucky: The kid with the buck teeth, duh. Dumb Donald: The kid with the green t-shirt and pink sock hat with the eye holes. Rudy: Guy with the orange cap, and purple threads (he was hip daddy-o) Weird Harold: as I said the tall guy in the sports jacket. MushMouth: Rather large lipped fellow with the rope belt holding up his red pants and the blue scarf Mudfoot: The old man they hung out with in the junkyard. Brown Hornet: a man who needs no introduction. Man I loved this show. Stan
Joel D. Park
I just searched TVGuide.com for the upcoming week, no Fat Albert on my Cable. And Stan, I'd like to thank you for the refresser course on Fat Albert, it's been like 10 years since I've seen it.
+Cafeman
Thanks for the refresher course! I always thought that Dumb Donald was Weird Harold! Thats news to me! I was very young when I used to watch FA, I have even better memories of listening to Cosby's records. (On vinyl, you young CD-snappers!) Weird Harold and Fat Albert were often in the stories he'd tell, and I would LAUGH SO HARD at some of them! Anybody remember Chicken Heart? Or Buck BUck? Or Soap Box Derby? Or 9th Street Bridge? HAW HAW HAW!
JagDiesel
the Fat Albert Christmas Special is on UPN on Monday at 8pm, check your local listings... Saw the commercial last nite, and am sooo stoked. HeyHeyHey!!!
StanJr
Thanks for the heads up about the special!!! I do recall buck-buck, and soap box derby. By the way, those characters in those stories (as well as the cartoon) are actual people from Bill Cosby's childhood. His little brother is Russel, and he had friends who literally were Fat Albert and Weird Harold. Crazy huh? William H.
