@fiddlepaddle: The Dig 8.1 comes out, and everyone is severely disappointed. :P

Yes it is.  Open to the public.  Wish I wasn't so far away...  It's cool though, I'll catch it on video...

Maybe they'll manage to unearth a few bits of junk, maybe even the remains of cartridges or other products which can still be readily found on eBay, but I think it's going to be like "The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults" in the desert (that is, an overhyped stunt which ends in disappointment). I'd love to be proven wrong.

I agree. Either way, it's gonna be the biggest game of Dig Dug ever played! :-D

Make it yourself with batari Basic. It should only take you about 20 minutes. Then you can start selling carts the next day. :D

LOL.  That's a RIOT!

Either way, the mystery and legend behind what Atari buried, if anything, will be interesting to witness.  Even if nothing is really found.  Who knows.  There may be some prototypes hidden there as well.  If they manage to find a bunch of 2600 consoles and mainboards still intact I, for one, wouldn't mind picking up a few to see if they work or not.  It will be interesting to see what is found nevertheless.
