+johnnywc
Hello all - I am interested in printing up some mock labels for some unreleased prototypes (ie. Grover's Music Maker, Holey Moley, etc.) and was wondering if anybody has tried this themselves. Rhindle the Red was gracious enough to provide to me a fantastic label for GMM but I'm not sure of the best way to print it up.. - I own a HP1600C (ink jet printer); is this good enough to print a full color label? - what type of "paper" do I use? does anybody have a part # of some specific glue-back paper that I could use? - are there services available to have these printed up professionally? (without costing an arm and a leg?) Any help would be greatly appreciated... Also - can someone recommend a resource for getting these games on a cart? Anybody have an exerpience with one that they would like to share? Thanks!
+-^CrossBow^-
Well, I have printed up a few replacement labels for my older carts here. I have a Canon BJC8200 so it is more than up to the task of printing quality labels. I actually just use a high gloss or Photo pro type paper to print my labels on. I do resample the images to a very high resolution just to be sure I get a good print out. I use some cratfs spray adhesive to affix the labels themselves. Basically I cut out the label...turn it over to the back and spray it with the glue. It is sorta like rubber cement but is safe on all surfaces. I let is set for a bit to get tacky and then apply it onto the cart. I have done a Pitfall! Dodger Cars, Raquetball, Final Approach, and Crystal Castles carts this way. Hope that helps. moycon
I've never gotten into the whole thing myself...Altho it sounds fun. To make say a different unique lable for all 14 copies of combat for instance. HehHeh Anyways...Dont they make printer paper that is like just one big blank sticker? Where you could just print, cut and apply?
Osmeroid
Has anyone tried making their own boxes? I have the dimensions etc. to construct the box (with Atari/Activision style inner cart support) does anyone recommend a particular type of card or have any tips for printing on the box? moycon
That would be so cool to get everything you need to print up boxes and lables and manuals and instuctions on what to purchase and how to do this...Or buy it all in bulk and offer a service (for a fee) to print this up for people that requested it or even sell a cd with all the info on it. I'd think there would be some demand for something like this???
