Nateo
You know that Cheetah thing that Bob Colbert came up with? Hows about someone on this site make some more codes for it!? Currently, there are only codes for about seven games. We need more codes! Bob's Website: Bob's page I especially want codes for Adventures of Tron. And Space Invaders. And a bunch of other 2k/4k games
Nukey Shay
The emulator PCAE (pc-Atari) has a debugger built-in, so you can change the program without making changes to the actual rom file. I've posted some memory locations in the past (for games being discussed at the time, like Adventure, Space Shuttle, Raiders), and Thomas has as well (though he does a much better job at finding precise locations). Check the back threads that use the game name in the header and have a lot of replies in this forum.
NE146
Here's one of them where Nukey went off in the past : 2600 Cheats? I think there were a few more threads shortly after this one as well..
Junie
In case anyone doesn't know how to use Cheeta Codes inside PCAE without modifing the game with the Cheeta Program, here is how to use the codes. The Cheeta game codes can be used inside PCAE with having to change the game. Just load PCAE as normal then enable the Debugger, press F10 then goto "Toggle Debugger". Load a game as normal, the Debugger screen will show. Then press "E", inside the box type the Cheeta code as follows... Cheeta Code -- 53AEA1 Type -- F53A=EA Then press yuor enter key. Then press "G" to run the game as normal. This will only change the bin while you play it, if you exit the game and reload it the code will be gone. Junie
I would personally like to see someone write a program in the Atari 2600 format (Bin file) that could be programmed on a EPROM, to do as below. The EPROM would be put onto a PCB and in a game case, as normal. On top of the game case there would be a adapter like the Atari 2600 game cartridge slot -- The game to cheat on would be inserted here. The cartridge slot on the game case would be wired to the cheat device EPROM, and output the game to the cartridge edge as normal. The program in the Atari 2600 format (Bin file) would read the output from the game on the top of the game case cartridge slot, and read the current memory addresses and values. The new program would then change the memory address values as instructed with the on screen code entering menu, before the game is started. Is it even possiable to make a program that could read the game on top of the game case and modify the memory address values and output them to the Atari? If not anyone have any ideas how this could be done?
