Mister VCS
In my childhood (the highdays of the VCS) i owend several rare games, but unfortunatly i gave it away for other common games. For example i owned Obelix, Beamrider (not rare but uncommon in Germany), and Buck Rogers. On a bad day I changed Obelix for Demons to Diamonds (because of the strange game title), and some day I DESTROYED Buck Rogers. Now I am looking forward to get Obelix from ebay (after 17 years). I think it was a funny game. And i remember the day i saw in a german warehouse Pengo, but this day (1984) i decided to buy Crystal Castles. I never saw this game again. What are your memories? StanJr
I too had a couple rare games when I was a kid. The one I miss the most is Miner 2049. I doubt I'll ever see another. (It may only be a 5 at AA, but around here, its a 10). Long lost Stan
JCroniger
The only rare game I got when I was a kid was Cosmic Swarm. It's so, so. I'm glad my parents kept it though.

Adriana
When I was young and getting over it -- my early Atari 2600 videogaming days, that is, at around the age of 15 -- I gave away a bunch of what I considered to be "lame" cartridges (the ones I never played) to my younger cousins. The games? From what I can remember, it was about 15 cartridges, complete with manuals, including Picnic, Stargunner, and -- get this -- Quadrun, and Swordquest Waterworld. DOH! But the story has a happy ending: About seven or eight years later, I recognized the error of my ways, and got back in touch with my cousins, who I had been lost contact with over the years. We had a great conversation, chit-chatting about old times and stuff, and current music. Slowly, I worked those old Atari cartridges into the conversation -- turns out they still had them! I worked out a deal where I traded them a rare Nirvana bootleg for all my old cartridges back. Woo-hoo! The only thing that sucked is that somewhere over the years, they lost the Swordquest Waterworld instruction manual -- they still had the comic book, tip sheet, and poster, but the manual was gone. Damn! But at least I had the cartridge. I lucked out.
ATARIPITBULL
Boy, you guy's lost some good games, but when we were kids games like Miner 2049er, Buck Rogers, and Pengo were not rare and you would trade these games for other games because maybe you didn't like the way they played. Now were are older and Atari of old, and some of these companys are gone, so now those games are rare. By the way Mister VCS and Stan JR, the games you two were talking about, I just bought them all on ebay this year, all in there boxes complete, so you can still buy them. Lemmi
The only game ive lost (actually lent to someone) was Montezumas Revenge and this was actually in the late 80's when this happened when i was around 16 or 17 years old, but thanks to Twit i got it back now, I still have every game i had since i got my atari 2600. I only traded games with 1 friend (which we still do with various systems) but we always traded them back (it might take 5 years but we always return them)
ubersaurus
I have the entire Sesame Street game series, and a Xonox Double ender of Spike's Peak and Chuck Norris from my childhood, but it really didn't get much rarer then that, though it certainly helped me fill alot of gaps in the commons collection
Mountain King
This doesn't really count, but I had a friend who I would trade games with regularly. We had a falling out and we are no longer friends, however at the time of our falling out I had his Mr. Do's Castle and his London Blitz. I could have kept these games, but I was honest enough to return them to him. But since then I have purchased my own London Blitz, but I'm, still looking For Mr. Do's Castle.
