King Atari
I mentioned this in a review for Atarinvader, but I'll say it here as well. As you may know, Desert Falcon has the isometric view that 2600 Zaxxon should have had. So, why doesn't someone hack Desert Falcon into some kind of Zaxxon? Obviously it wouldn't be very authentic gameplay wise, but hey, the graphics would be dead on! I would do this, but I can't even make my OSAMA?!?! hack go, so can anyone pull this off? Nukey Shay
Completely different gameplay. The only thing that's similar between the two is diagonal scrolling.
Albert
Yeah, it would take considerably more effort to "hack" Desert Falcon into a better Zaxxon. Nont only would you have to change the graphics, but you'd really need to change a lot of the underlying code to turn it into a Zaxxon gameplay wise. It would probably be easier to just write a new version of Zaxxon from scratch. And if I had that kind of 2600 programming talent, I'd probably spend it writing an original game, rather than a rehash of a game that would be difficult to pull off well anyway. Not trying to be negative here, just realistic. ..Al
