Just curious if anyone has every decompiled and looked for the Cosmic Ark graphic in the game Fathom to confirm if Rob Fulop did actually have it appear in the game somewhere. He claims it is there but doesn't recall how to unlock it. Stan...dude...time to fire up some Fathom lovin and figure it out...or perhaps Thomas or Scott could hack it out...

hehe..just curious...

Hmm...I see you actually have one bid so far...

But for future refrence...Fathom isn't rare enough for $9.99. If you had the actual instructions...that would be one thing. But you are providing the cart...loose with an Imagic Catalog. I would think a 2.99 or even $3 starting bid would be fair...and then go from there...

Oh well... just my 2 cents...I actually picked up my copy locally for .70 cents...

and I see them on ebay go for $5...

As many as I've seen, which isn't many, it's worth the minimun bid I put it up for. I based this on it's rarity and how often I see it on e-Bay. YOU may be able to pick it up locally, but for many people, myself included, e-Bay is the ONLY way to get new Atari games.

So basically it's only worth $3 to you, but to some else it's worth more.

And besides, I inflated the price a little to cover the cost of the "bonus." After all I didn't say "free bonus."

It's all in the wording.

Thanks for the info though, I really wish I had a place near me to pick up new stuff. It would make it so I could reduce my prices a little to better compete with some of the other seller out there.

sorry...you still lose...

If it is so rare...then explain this?

Fathom carts this month...

I am not trying to be a prick really...but I do think the price you have given is overpriced especially compared with others which completed in the past. Again the average price for this cart on ebay is $3.99. Your Imagic Catalog being tossed in does not constitute the extra $6 you have listed. Still, you set the price...and if someone out there is willing to spend that...then so be it.

As for getting Fathoms locally...I have only seen one. And the pricing I stated in my earlier post...was based on Ebay pricing.

In the future I would suggest doing a prior search on Ebay for complete past auctions as this will give you an estimate of what people are willing to pay.

If you getting your items from ebay initially and then trying to resell them. Then I see why you charge what you do for the starting bid. However, you will not get far doing it that way. Your better off finding the items in the wild for far cheaper prices...and then auctioning them off. If you can't find them locally...then perhaps something else should be considered for actual profit.

I am done with this conversation

Apparently our MoonlightKnight has not gotten word of my vehement dislike for evil-bay.

I'll stick to my chances in the wild. I have a $5 limit on buying atari games that I try to stick to. Thanks for the offer, Good Sir Knight.

As for the egg. I have played to the third level at this point, but I am yet to see the UFO. In Atlantis it appears when you die, in Comsic Ark it is the mini-ark you use to collect critters. If what form could it possibly be hiding in this game? I do notice that if you die, a heart appears for each rescue and once a dolphin appeared where the heart should have been. Maybe this is a lead of some sort? I have no idea, yet I work on...

I smell a ROTLA coming on...

I know you're not trying to be a prick, I didn't think you were. As for the number of Fathoms there I say this: That's THIS week, who knows what will happen next week. And besides have you seen some of my other auctions? Not bad prices considering what I'm selling. Some of them may be a little high but after a few weeks, if they don't sell, I usually bring them down anyway.

You even said yourself you've only seen one locally. Just because you're not will to pay the price I've set who's to say the next guy isn't? That could have been the guys favorite game when he was a kid and now he wants it again. Price isn't based on e-Bay alone, there are alot of factor you have to think of. Location, rarity, supply and demand, cost (I know you know these things.) And I only price my auctions to get ONE bid only. I wouldn't expect someone to pay more than $10 + S&H for this game, nor would I pay more than that if I didn't have it. If someone outbids the guy who's got it now, then that person is the crazy one.

My goal here is to offer people the carts they actual want instead of making them have to buy 20, 30 or 50 carts just to get a couple they really want. If people don't want to pay the prices I set then so be it. I'm not trying to gut people like I've seen so many other people try to do ($5 for a copy of Combat? $25 for a boxed Pac-Man? I've seen this and would never charge prices like that! Outrageous.)

I was actually thinking of reducing that auction anyway because it's been a few weeks and it hadn't sold yet. Besides, the price was only inflated $3 for the catalog, I would have had it up for $7 without it and I don't often sell things with catalogs, I just happened to have extras this time around and thought I would include them.

You know since I've been posting to this board, this is like the 3rd or 4th time someone has come down hard on e-Bay and the sellers. We're not all bad, people, and some of us can be reasoned with. I don't check what other sellers are doing (unless I'm buying from them) because I really don't want to know. Alot of them are just trying to make a buck off someone. Sure I'm doing it to make money, too, but I'm not going to way overcharge for something when I know it's not worth it. If other sellers are getting it cheaper and can sell it cheaper then I say good job to them and I wish I could do the same.

Ok. I've ranted long enough. No hard feelings. I'm just here to have a good time and talk about a subject I love to talk about. BTW, Crossbow, Thanks for the heads up on the auctions. I don't ever bother to check and I should bring the price down a bit. If only to get rid of the extra copy! It's the only extra I have and I have been just trying to get it sold.

Mahalo everyone!
