King Atari
Ah, hello fellow Ohioan. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where you'd find such a place, I can only suggest FuncoLand, but I don't if there's any near Toledo.
2600toxboxjagsthebest
got 2 funcolands actually with nothing but sega nintendo fare though
Uncle Duke
Also as a fellow Ohioan, I live near Ashland, Wooster and Mansfield in North East Ohio and I know I cant find many places to get 2600 games. We used to have this Goodwill that was full of them, but now your lucky if you spot combat or Super Mario Bros. for the NES.... So if there is some big Atarian who lives near me and took all the games at a Goodwill in Ashland than you have made a fellow Atarian... very upset.. 2600toxboxjagsthebest
goodwill! great idea thanks
Snider-man
Try Video Game Connection. Mike's in Cleveland, Ohio - not too far a drive from you - and he has nothing BUT classic video game stuff. It may be a bit pricey-er than you'd like, but Mike's a collector too and knows what the value of stuff is. However, nothing is overpriced, you'll find good deals, and he'll work with ya if you're looking for something in particular. However, if you just want to spend 50 cents per cart, you're Goodwill and Salvation Army-bound.

Scooterb23
I did a Yahoo search for video games in Toledo, as I live in the Southside of Ohio, I have not been to any of these places, just a jumping off point for you, good luck... Family Video - 4250 W. Alexis Rd. Gamestop - 5333 Monroe St # 3 Players Edge - 3301 W Central Ave Video Game Underground - 1947 W Sylvania Ave Xcite Inc - 5661 Telegraph Rd Just to second Snider-man, Video Game Connection is a great place, even if it costs a buck or two more. JCroniger
I've bought numerous games from Mike in the past. He has good games at fair prices. I'd definitely recommend him!!
King Atari
Uh, just to rephrase this, Ohio rocks.
moycon
Ok King Atari... I was born in Cleveland and grew up in Euclid...My mother currently resides in Solon. One thing I never thought about Ohio was that it rocked. Was nice and chilly living there tho.
Scooterb23
Being in Southern Ohio for 18 years now, I can guarandamntee that Ohio does not rock. It does seem to have a Dwight Yoakum-esque nasal twang that I believe has made me sterile.
JCroniger
Hey Moycon, I grew up in Euclid too. When did you live there? I was there until '86 until I went away to OSU.

Scooterb23
quote: I did enjoy COSI in Columbus, though. Hey, I work at COSI!! Well, it's not at the same location as it was all those years, and it isn't quite as cool as it used to be, and it's been getting ripped in the local media unmercilessly recently. But it's still a fun place to work.
King Atari
*sigh* Okay, Akron rocks. C'mon, don't you guys love your own state?!
Uncle Duke
I have to admit, I love Ohio, but I do hate the, as scooterb put it, the Dwight Yokem'esque feel that alot of Ohio has. (Creston, I grew up there, anyone ever been to Creston, known to many as CrestVirginia... Most of my family lives in Creston, I dont like it much there though, too Dwight Yokem'esque, Achey Breaky Heart'esque feeling there. Too many bad memories.) I live now in the sticks in some little town in the middle of nowhere called J-Ville, not gonna say the real name for all you Stalkers out there, , but I live near Ashland Wooster and Mansfield, (As I said in a previous post) But all in all... CLEVELAND ROCKS, CLEVELAND ROCKS, CLEVELAND ROCKS!!! OHIOOOOOOO!!!! No Drew Carrey's were harmed in the making of this post.
King Atari
I'll admit that some of Ohio has a hick feel, but Northeast Ohio DOES NOT! I can't talk for the rest of you, but Northeast Ohio is awesome.
Scooterb23
OK, I admit I like Cleveland, Cincy, and Dayton. But I have lived in Ohio since 1984, and I still want nothing more than to go back to Indiana.
JCroniger
I always liked COSI. Why is the Dispatch ripping on it. I always thought the Dispatch was a joke. Is it still bad as ever? My wife and I returned to Cleveland in '95.
Scooterb23
Let's put it this way about the Dispatch...I'd rather use the New York Times, in Columbus, as my local newspaper. The Dispatch is a joke, but people are too lazy to find the truth, so the Dispatch gets by unnoticed. They rip on COSI because we got a major new building, and we've been having a few growing pains. We tripled our exhibition space, but after two years in existence our attendance is about at the level of the old building. We had to raise our base prices ($7 to $12), we now have an Extreme Screen, a better Planetarium, and a motion simulator ride, and an arcade (which all unfortunately cost extra). Not much we could do there, we tried to make it a more exciting experience, but to pay for it all, we had to transfer some of that cost to the public. And then there was the recent 10% staff cut...34 people lost their jobs, the Dispatch spun it into us going out of business soon. Idiots. Every time we open a new exhibit, they send a reporter, we put out best foot forward, and then they slam us, even though we have about a 95% approval rating from the public. The biggest complaint we get from the public is that people miss the old stuff, the coal mine, the streets of yesteryear etc... But what good is it too open a shiny new building, and then fill it with the same old stuff???? I've never understood that. Sorry to rant, I'm trying to spread the word that, while we've changed, we're still COSI, and still a heck of a lot of fun.
Uncle Duke
They took out the streets of yesteryear?! Man! That was the coolest part! I knew they took out the coal mine, which I was also disapointed. But I havent been to the new one yet, so I dont know if I would like the new one or not. But the streets of yesteryear...man... Scooterb23
Lemme rephrase that in moden movie terminology..."The Streets of Yesteryear has been re-imagined, enhanced, and redesigned as Progress Living History Theater." There, basically it is kinda sorta like SoY, but it takes a look at a town in 1890s, and the same town in the 1960s to see how it has grown, adapted, and changed with technology. Basically that means the people you see in there are in period garb, and will interact with you as if it were the era. It's pretty cool when a lot of stuff is going on (meaning sneak in along with a school group), if you walk through by yourself and don't interact, it can be kinda boring. It's a nice place.
