+johnnywc
RangerG, For me, my goal is to collect the following: - NTSC only releases - major label variations This includes the Atari Club releases as well. I also collect what I like to call "label variation oddities"; for example, the yellow text Atari Blackjack (more commonly available in green) or the mis-spelled POLE POSITION end label, but I don't include these in my "goal". I do not collect PAL games or pirate games. As many will say, the goal I have set may not only be unreachable, but also undefineable, as there are many exceptions and ambiguities, but I do it just for fun so that doesn't bother me. I'm also not even close to my goal to worry about the little details, but I may someday!!! Hope this helps...
d8thstar
hi rangerg, probably my post about lunx games? i don't think i was very clear. what i meant was all games that were released within the the officially supported lynx's life span. we all know that there are still games coming out and i will get to those eventually. i have to start somewhere and picking up the titles that came out up to the day when atari killed the cat is a good place to start for me
MattyXB
I have say in an other topic, that I have now all official releases from Raiders of the Lost Ark. I mean with that all releases original from Atari, some other companies have this game release too, but it came first from Atari. And I mean official is too all releases from games were the gameidea is not stolen or rerelease from an other companie. All games from this companies for me official (only some example, because I can't list them all): Atari, Activision, Imagic, Bomb, Comma Vid, Epyx, Konami. And then there are companies out, which only copy the games and change maybe a bit like: Quelle, CCE, Polyvox, Dynamics. These are not official releases for me, because they are rerelease or stolen the games. Maybe there are some of these companies who have official release them, but they was not the first companie. PS: But I like to collect unofficial games, because they rarer and harder to get. [ 03-06-2002: Message edited by: MattyXB ]
ATARIPITBULL
Maybe the guy is only collecting games made by Atari only and not from the others like Activision, Imagic and so on.

RangerG
I saw someone talking about how they only collect all Atari official releases. What exactly does this mean? I assume it means you would only collect for games that were released nationally in stores. This would eliminate searching/buying the games that were only released via the Atari Club newsletter, etc. What other games would you not need for your collection if you were only collecting official releases? Is this a common collection goal? Thanks - RangerG [ 03-06-2002: Message edited by: RangerG ]
