MattyXB
I have never know, that these Taiwan pirates NTSC versions. They sold in germany. why are they NTSC? [ 04-08-2002: Message edited by: MattyXB ]
Alex
We aren't really sure of the formats of all these games at this time, we are just grouping them together right now. Some seem to have been sold in Europe, some in the US. Some appear to be exclusive to NTSC or PAL, some appear to have been sold in both formats. We need more info on these titles, perhaps dumping them and checking scanlines would help. Here is our description of these games: "We have grouped these games together because of the similar box and cartridge styles. All boxes have a drawing on the front with a "New" logo above the drawing. The back of the box has some simple instructions and a mock screenshot. These games have been found in the US and in Europe, and they were made in Taiwan (according to the back of the box). We don't know who actually made them, or if there were any official distribution channels. We have listed these games as NTSC for the time being, although the games found in Europe play fine on PAL systems. We're not sure if they were actually distributed in both formats, or only one format that happens to work on both TV formats. If you have any further information about who made these or how they were distributed, please contact us." We are open to information/suggestions. Joel D. Park
Thanks Albert, I'm glad I had a few things you could use. Some of the Taiwan Pirate carts I purchased were from the U.K. So they are probably most definately PAL. I've played most if not all of the games, but it's hard to tell with my system setup which games are PAL and which aren't, I play everything through a VCR and sometimes it catches PAL and figures it out, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes NTSC games will roll, it's really a toss-up. If you check out the box scans though, you can see the price in pounds on some of the boxes. They were from the UK.
MattyXB
OK, I understand. I have the same probleme with some of my games. Can't tell if I have NTSC or PAL games. Because on PAL system all work good. I can only test the colours by emulator and original and if they other then I have maybe NTSC. But I am not 100% shure. I have buy some games from Jah Fish, and he has buy and trade so many from USA that I have get maybe some NTSC from him. But thats no probleme. Most NTSC games are a bit Rarer. Maybe my Gas Hog is NTSC, because I have other colours as on emulator. But I will try to get another one to test it again. But I will not pay so much for it.
