Rockin' Kat
It may fall under the title of sports game - which I usually hate - but, Zany Golf is my favorite IIgs game.
Jess Ragan
Well, there's Seven Cities of Gold. It hasn't aged gracefully, but you're not likely to find anything else like it. It's an action/strategy game with historical significance... you load up on supplies while in Europe, sail your ships to the New World, and enter native settlements to either trade goods with the people who live there or slaughter them indiscriminately (just like the REAL European settlers!). kondre
Best Apple // games? Wings of Fury - Best game ever on the apple // Captain Goodnight - Very comical but linear, but comical Resue Raiders - very rare to find, stratigic Choplifter - runs perfect looks just like the A5200 version, or does Atai's look like apples's? Karateka - the version that every other system wished they had. Spy vs Spy - honerable mention
+FujiSkunk
I've read the AppleIIGS received a particulary good port of Arkanoid II. As for Apple II games, just about anything released by Broderbund in the early and mid '80s is worth playing, including gems like Karateka, Choplifter, David's Midnight Magic, and Lode Runner. AtariSoft also made a number of good ports for the Apple II, with Moon Patrol and the officially unreleased Mario Brothers standing out. Apple II California Games, while not the best version, must get an honorable mention because it has some of the best music an Apple II without extra hardware can generate. Jeff Lodoen
IIGS... slim pickings, but here are some favorites of mine... unique to the GS (I think) Alien Mind Task Force Xenocide Dream Zone Keef the Thief ports, but the GS had better sound... Tunnels of Armageddon Bard's Tale I & II Dragon Wars Neuromancer World Games Block Out Crystal Quest Rastan Dark Castle Dungeon Master Immortal Roadwar 2000 Sierra titles
