Heavy Sixer Serial Number Thread

I just bought this at a local pawn shop. It appears to be a light sixer, but it has some heavy-looking cast shielding on the inside.

The thing that struck me as odd about it is that it was made in Taiwan. I understand most were made either in Sunnyvale or in Hong Kong.

I see there are a couple of Taiwanese units on the list, one with a serial before mine, and one with a serial after mine, so I figured I might as well post mine. Hopefully the serial number is clear enough in the third photo.

EDIT: Since it's been discussed before, mine DOES have a channel select switch in that hole. It's way down in there though, and you have to reach in with a small screwdriver or similar object to be able to move it. It's mounted parallel to the case.

That's a regular light sixer.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't figure out why the serial was right between two that are already on the list, unless those are on by mistake.

Just got a Sears Heavy Sixer from my Aunt. The serial # is 54500V. Also, there is some sort of sticker on it "Your game received personal attention from: *******". It is signed by someone, presumably that worked for Atari. I'll show some pictures and maybe someone could make sense of it.....

Acquired a second heavy sixer. This one's an Atari model, has no channel select switch (doesn't even have the opening for one), has a white cartridge port. The unit is untested and looks a little rough, but not too bad.

Serial number is 72621F. It was manufactured in Sunnyvale.

EDIT: This console has been worked on before. The grain of some of the switches is different than others. All three main ICs are socketed but the buffer is soldered. It's definitely got heavy sixer guts. Someone spilled soda pop into it which ran down the board and underneath the filter cap in the power circuit.

Whoever worked on it didn't screw the bezel down correctly. Because of this and some Oklahoma heat in someone's attic, the bezel has warped. I did screw the bezel down correctly and the warp is barely noticeable. I currently have the unit open for cleaning and inspection. I've re seated all the major ICs and I've been cleaning and shining stuff up. It'll look nice when I'm done. :)
