lbaeza
Hi. I want to share with you one of my findings at my local flea market. There are several things about this cartridge. This is a MADE IN ARGENTINA cartridge. Never had one of these before, and never knew Argentina produced Atari 2600 carts. This is a cartridge with no end label, so I had no idea about the game name. This cartridge features no-screws assembly. I arrived home and after cleaned it a little, I hooked up my 2600 and I discovered a couple of things: BAD THING: This is a PAL-N cartridge. My 2600 is NTSC :-( So I can only see bouncing images (No V-HOLD on my TV set) GOOD THING: This is a MULTI GAME cart. Includes the following titles (as far as I have discovered): * Star Ship (Atari) (!) * Slot Machine (Atari) (!) * Othello (Atari) * Slot Racers (Atari) * Flag Capture (Atari) * Freeway (Activision) * Boxig (Activision) * Tennis (Activision) There are ony cosmetics differences, i.e., the word EDU replaces the ACTIVISION logo on the screen. Externally it seems a normal cartridge (no DIP switches). How do you select the game you want to play? You have to turn your console OFF and then back ON and a randomly selected game will show up. You have to repeat these steps until your favorite title appears. I have some questions about this. What was EDU GAMES? How many carts did they produce for the 2600? Did they make 5200 and 2600 carts also? Are there other similar carts around? Regards
lbaeza
Just in case, here's another picture of the cart:

Atari freak 1
Wierd... never seen anything like that before. so, the only way to switch games is to shut it on and off to get to the one you want? that's kinda stupid.
Philflound
If I remember correctly, that is the way the Atari 32 in 1 cart works too. Yeah, a little lame having to turn it off, but it was probably too much of a hassle to throw in dip switches. Phil
JCroniger
I have a multi cart from Austraila, and it works the same way. It is a 64 game multicart. I love Australian carts. They're cool as hell, and have great art work.
slapdash
I know another guy who found an Edu cart. Odd though, I think the graphics on the label were different? I think I have a pic, but will check. Also, I don't think his was a multicart, but will try to verify.
Osbo
that's the old EDU games, I have a bunch of those carts back home. The picture it's different, sadly I don't have a picture right now. Also I still have my first VCS clon, a white Dynavision. My dad was suppost to mail me the stuff, but never happends. They had a bunch of Activision games, and Atari games as well, but if I remember correctly (I'm talking about stuff that happends 15 years ago so bear with me) They mostly have Activision games, with the Activision logo. Just my two cents OsBo
MattyXB
This is the first time I see such a cart. Wow great find. The game sound like a normal 32 in 1 cartridge from Atari. This is the first time I think about this: Why are Activision games on the 32 in 1 Cartridge, when it is official from Atari? Have the licenses for the games? And I have another question: Why are the games in that cart very often just simple PAL hacks (e.g. 3D Tic-Tac-Toe, Basketball, Golf, Human Cannonball, Othello) of the NTSC versions instead of being based on the already existing PAL versions (e.g. Air Sea Battle, Combat, Miniature Golf, Sky Diver) ? See CloneSpy for details. And they also included games of other companies (e.g. Space Jockey - US Games, Cosmic Swarm - CommaVid). That makes me wonder too. BTW: What year was the 32 in 1 cart released?
MattyXB
On the cartridge stand 1988.
