Many many more hours of enjoyment of Tempest (Jaguar) than Adventure. Adventure is very creative though.

Went ahead and picked the game the game that, to me at least, started the genre..

A blocky, 2-color maze game with arrows and ducks that started the exploration genre

 

or

 

A psychedelic, techno-soundtracked fireworks show of a 3D shooter, that updated one of the most original vector arcade games from the 1980s.

 

I went with the eye candy, but we're really comparing apples and aardvarks now.
