Shannon
From what I read everyone seems to be hung up on getting fedora and/or gentoo running on the PS3. Certainly nothing wrong with that. But considering all the issues I've been reading about. Limited screen resolution, sound difficulties, trouble compiling firefox and thunderbird, problems getting the latest GCC compiler on there. Yellow Dog seems to have all these issues taken care of. Are linux users just gluttons for self punishment? Edited January 4, 2007 by Shannon
+FujiSkunk
Maybe they just aren't trusting anything that has been given Sony's "blessing," after the stellar linux "support" Sony gave the PS2.
+remowilliams
Dunno, haven't tried any other distros. FC5 installation went off without a hitch, and I was able to compile apps such as Hatari and MAME without issues. Haven't had a lot of time after that to mess with it though.
