  1. My question: how long does it take for Windows 95 to load on that thing? I'd rather run DOS or Windows 3.1 programs on there.
  2. Gamemoose

    Yars Rising

The game play kinda reminds me of "Shadow Complex".
  3. Definitely! It's a style I'm not used to and honestly was kinda rubbing the borders of my "comfort zone" (if it has too many fiddle bits to have to focus on, it can be a bit much and turns from fun to chore). However, how the game does dole out events, quests and such and it's pace, it's so far hitting that sweet spot for me. I *want* to keep playing and that's a good thing for a modern game to me. I've been switching up my days to go fishing during one point and then mission seeking the next. We'll see how night diving goes (where it just uses 1/3 rd of your bar opening time-risk reward I guess).
  4. More "Dave the Diver" for me. I'm on the next chapter and am really going to great depths to get into this game! I now have a second cook and the bar is really ramping up! I now have to do night dives to get some nocturnal seafood so I have to figure out how to manage that and bar time (as I skimmed through the part of time skipping).
  5. I have a good original pair of paddles and the new ones. I should be able to play some Kaboom! or Circus Atari this weekend to see if I have issues. I don't recall noticing any issues but I didn't do the "Pepsi Challenge" with my OG pair.
  6. Huh...playing as Tommy gave me serious Bonk vibes. Doesn't look half bad.
  7. Yeeeeahhh! I checked out the demo at Midwest Gaming Classic when it was Project Sword and it was pretty sweet. I'm glad it's actually coming out and I'm definitely pledging.
  8. Got back to some Switch action and played more into Animal Crossing. I put fences around some homes to spruce things up and I was able to get KK Slider. He had his concert and I got more stuff unlocked. I also have Brewster on the way too. I dove back into "Dave the Diver" Sunday. It allowed me to continue from my demo save, which was a nice touch! Starting again I felt like my Dave was incapable of doing much underwater but thankfully the game seems a bit generous with cash so I could upgrade my gear to go deeper and carry more stuff. I was able to get a staff recruiter (with the help of finally nabbing a particular shark for a dish this recruiter wanted- note that it seems like some tasks don't have a time limit, so don't beat yourself up if you can't get that task finished right away) and that teaches you about ads and hiring. I trained my new dining room staff member and that has really helped! At this point, my staff member can pour drinks and I had a TV ad out to hopefully get another chef. So far I'm liking the game more than I thought I would. It seemed like busy work after the demo but there is a method to Mint Rocket's madness.
  9. One week away! Got tickets for my "birthday kids" (been taking my daughter since she was 2 or 3 and now my son, who turned 8, for his second year) and we are excited!
  10. Bought an Atari 2600 homebrew from Reality Studio. It arrived quickly and was just as shown-excellent condition! I wanted to play it before leaing feedback but life often times beats out getting one's Atari on. He followed up to make sure all was well! And definitely all is well! Thanks again!
  11. Double whammy the past few days. I got through Super Mario 2 USA on my 3DS and I wrapped up all the endings in Dungeons and Doomknights.
  12. I grabbed my 3DS while heading out to work yesterday. I actually got time to take a full lunch break and I was able to beat Super Mario 2 (USA) for the second time in like, 35 years. I had to stifle some bouts of verbal frustration but it was a good run. Today I packed the AVS and my HDMI to headphone audio splitter so we'll see how kind time is for me today.
  13. Still pluggin' away at Dungeons and Doomknights. I was able to get my hands on the boat now and that has opened up some areas. I'm still wandering aimlessly trying to figure out where to go next. I went through the desert area and was able to get my axe upgraded to smash certain blocks in that region (Sar-smash-a-gus or something like that's the power is called, so certain statue looking things, some carcasses, etc.). I figured this would be the next logical spot as the enemies need more hits to take down, but not by much. I found that I really couldn't get into the pyramids I was informed by some treasure hunting person I needed to enter so that area is a bust for now. I ventured to the frozen waste area and there I was able to get my hands on a power that allows me to warp from certain glyph patterns on the ground (shadow I guess). I called it quits for the night. I did notice that I can't see exits at the bottom of my screen on this game. I haven't compared it to the AVS on that game yet so I'm not sure if it's a NES thing or perhaps a mapper thing. This game was made in NESMaker and I do recall seeing the bottom of the game field sink past the TV screen when I played in an emulator.
  14. Thanks for the heads up! I plugged my VCS yesterday upstairs to get out of the cold basement, get things updated and actually play. Updates went in without a hitch (though in full transparency-I did have to update via USB when I got my system a few weeks ago brand new off eBay. After that any other update has worked). Then I was inspired to spend money.....
  15. What's the song? It sounds like Axel Foley's rendition of the "Dating Game" theme from "Beverly Hills Cop 2".
