  1. I'm really thankful I bought both Asteroids Deluxe and Space Duel as soon as they were available. I hope the store didn't get some sort of cease and desist, that'd possibly put a damper in future hacks.
  2. I'd love to see Moon Patrol released. The 7800 I think could really do a nice version. Atleast the buggy wouldn't look like something that was scraped off your shoe like the 5200 version does.
  3. MAME is free and readily available Now, on a classic system, this one is the best so far. The only one that has a chance to be better is PMC on the Colecovision...if it ever gets released. Arcade patterns work 100% on that version. Its not yet been released? Geez and here I thought I missed out on a great great Coleco release then. Any word on when,is the game finished? Is there maybe a rom in one of the forums that one could try out? I own a Coleco, would gladly buy a copy the minute its available, but I'd love to try a rom in the mean time.
  4. I take it this game will be sold through the Atari Age store...I hope so. Nice job PacManPlus. Game plays really nice.
  5. I like the system because its nice to play better looking versions to all my arcade favorites. As a kid I use to see the 5200 and 7800 sitting on store shelves and wished so badly that I could own one. I eventually stopped playing home video games around '84 and went back to where it all started-the arcades. I dabbed in the NES and SMS when hanging with my friends but it wasn't until 1989 that I got back into the home gaming scene again with the Sega Genesis. AS much as I like Atari though, Sega still holds the mantle as favorite gaming console, the Genesis was amazing for its time, all the arcade ports from Sega and their original lineup of games really made me open my eyes to what video gaming was all about. Over the years I always wondered how the 5200 and 7800 were like,I still had that fondness for Atari, but I could never even keep up with then current software releases on the Genesis hardware, so going back to Atari was a thing I always had put off for many years. The last 2 years though I bought a 5200 and 7800 and its been really fun. I love playing my old arcade favorites again, seeing how much better the later Atari consoles were next to their grandfather 2600. I had a natural curiosity to see what the games were like, the controllers I had always heard about, and more than anything0getting that old Atari vibe back again. Its been fun,and I'm not gonna leave Atari behind ever again, home brew will see to future releases, and finding this forum has been really great. Overall I'd go with the 2600 as my all time favorite Atari console, mainly because I was a kid playing all those great games, and well, its not quite the same with the newer systems, being an adult sort sucks the life out of you when it comes to enjoying games. I don't think I'll ever enjoy gaming as much as I did when I was a child, that is an innocence that is gone forever. But its still nice to go back and now own the 5200 and 7800 and see what they were like. I love'em allot,it keeps me young, and more than anything, they're giving more of a thrill than todays next gen. consoles do. I love the short and simple game play, and gripping the old pads, seeing the prehistoric yet lovely old school graphics make it a nice trip down memory lane again.
  6. Coleco by a long mile. Though thats probably because I never picked up an NES till it was on its way out. I played allot of its games with friends though,it was a good system but it never made me want to run out and buy one though. Coleco was another story, geez what a neat system. I must have mowed hundreds of lawns as a kid just to save up and buy one. When I saw arcade favorites like Zaxxon,Donkey Kong, and Star wars running on the system I saved and eventually got the system, many hours spent with friends playing that great system too. My favorite game was Sega;s SubRock,I loved the day and night transition when fighting wave fter wave of baddies. Such fond memories. Todays modern games are like a cheap substitute for me. You've got so much Hollywood influence with story lines and an over emphasis on trying to find news ways to play games with quirky Wii controllers, its just not the same to me.
  7. PacManPlus-first Asteroids Deluxe and now Space Duel. God bless you bro, you're the reason why Atari will always live on for many of us. Thanks for such great devotion, you are one crafty guy. Can't wait to buy these on cart.
  8. I see someone mentioned a Moon Patrol project for the 7800. Its one of my favorite games of all time. Maybe someday it'll happen,I'll play the Mame,Coleco, and 5200 versions till then.
  9. Ahhh Ok-AtariBoy2600 came up with the beautiful art for this beauty. Thanks for the dedication to all of you. In my mind the 7800 will always live on. Because of the people at Atari Age,PacmanPlus, and AtariBoy2600 the system will continue to burn that flame. The fans appreciate it,we really do.
  10. Ditto. As I said before and say again, Bob (PacManPlus) is a class act and I would buy this product if it even was half-baked. However, this is a professional release and an excellent job of giving you multiple Pac-Man games for much less than you should be paying for it. My cart, manual, bonus CD and more was presented and sent in a professional and timely manner. Once again kudos to AtariAge - Especially Albert - for handling this release and especially *thank you* to PacManPlus for releasing it. If you still haven't purchased this yet - Read the subject line and obey!!! j/k Seriously, you are only doing yourself a great disservice for not purchasing this cartridge. Get it now. -Trebor Listen to this man,h speaks the truth. My god this game kicks ass. I just went through its menus, also played a few games and the game diversity is just unreal for a pacman game. Anyone who grew up playing the pac-man games is gonna love this, its like a bundle of joy from yesterdays golden age of gaming. Thanks so much Atari Age,and also this shout goes out to PacManPlus, dude you just delivered one of the best olds chool games around. Who did the cover designs? I'm so sorry but I'm forgetting your name bro. It makes the whole bundle an incredible gem. But hats off to all that made this happen. I'm gonna have an extra beer tonight in your honor. Were definitely not worthy (bows)
  11. I received my copy just now. Haven't tried it out yet but rest assured the manual and cart look pretty nice, they really did a fine job with the package. They even slipped in a Atari Anniversary CD to play on your PC,I totally forgot about that being included. Well I'm off to give the game a spin or two, hope the rest of you guys and gals received the game today.
  12. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow-I did get an email saying it shipped about 3 days ago. Not even the newer games like Gears of War or Resisstance had me this excited. Its good to go back and play the classics.
  13. Imagine some NES ports down the line The more the better. The NES had so many good games, damn the possibilities. Abit off topic but I really hope that someday someone makes a 7800 version of Moon Patrol for the 7800,one of the best games ever to me.
  14. Linked to the store and ordered my copy. This is going to be one of the 7800's greatest carts now. I emailed my friend the link and he was like what the hell, they still make games for that system? He thought it was pretty neat, but a little weird. Not so much if you own and enjoy the system though,I love the fact that were still getting new games for this console.
  15. I've been keeping an eye on this topic and its good to see the project is nearing completion. I bought 3 games off you earlier this year and love everyone of them. Just let us know when you'll be taking orders because your work is first rate. Atariboy 2600-those scans are pretty nice dude. It makes the games even more exciting when you see such great game art to compliment a great game compilation.
