  1. Does anyone else think this is one of the best games ever for the 2600 system? I love making 3 pointers from the corner! I could score 100 points quickly that way.
  2. Double Dunk or Pete Rose baseball are the best looking 2600 games.
  3. If it started out at 19.99, and there's only been one bid, how can the $50 reserve be met? Or does one bid (even if it's the only one) have to be proxy'd at the reserve price? Or am I reading this wrong?
  4. Dad and I would play RealSports Baseball and Football all day long. Of all things, he also got into Laser Blast. That was an intense game back in the day, and I can still remember hearing him say "The secret is that you just don't miss"
  5. I agree with Defender. The second one Stargate was much better. But why did they release the first piece of junk in the first place? I was also disappointed by RealSports Baseball. The Volleyball, Tennis and Football games were really good but the rediculous speed of runners on stolen bases is a complete joke. And the fact that you could pick a pitch that couldn't be hit (wasn't there like an intentional ball?) that looked the same as everything else was messed up too.
  6. I just discovered the original game--rented it for the weekend and it's a lot of fun to play. I can get it new for $19 or used for about $15. Question--is the ATV Off Road Fury 2 worth the $40 ($34.99 I think at Best Buy actually) or is it more of the same? I have a TOUGH time spending that kind of money on a video game...unless it's a great one But for $15 the original is pretty darn good.
  7. Gran Turismo 3 A Spec...you start out with like 18K to spend to buy a car, so I bought a low-end car (all you can afford obviously--the Dodge Coupe thing that looks like a minivan). I've also got my first two licenses. It is better to try to earn money winning races at the low level (you only get $1000 for winning a race and it takes like 30-40K to get anything resembling speedy or powerful) and buy another car, or take my low-end car and use the money to upgrade it to the gills? I've upgraded a bit and it's very competitive on the beginner circuit, but it can't even come close to being competitive in the next-level "A" races...[/b]
  8. but it is a very slick site...well done though
  9. I agree. The SELLER should always leave feedback first, since the BUYER has already done his part irrespective of how the rest of the transaction plays out. The BUYER has paid for the item in good faith in exchange for goods or services.
  10. This is one of those games where you either love it or hate it. I don't love it. The graphics are nice and it was of the era when side-scrollers like Mario were very popular. But to me, playing this game ranks just below sitting in a dark room and trying to watch paint dry. It's very easy for the first level or two, then it's too hard. There's a point where you simply can't advance any further without doing a pixel-precise jump across a couple of pipes. If you can't do that particular maneuver, you don't advance. After a while I simply gave up. I can't believe game testers (if there were such) didn't pick up on this. Sorta like the Legend of Zelda game that came with the NES--the light world was fairly easy, but once you get into the dark world...why even bother it's so hard. Unfortunately, there's not much demand on ebay for this Scrapyard Dog (I tried several times).
  11. After I've had a few days to play it, I highly recommend the Tiger Woods 2003 game. It looks as good as any game I've ever seen for any system. It's fun, but there's a nice balance between arcade golf and actual simulation. It's excellent, and my wife enjoys playing it too. We're playing the mode where you start out with a rookie golfer and everytime you get a birdie, hole-in-one, chip-in, etc. you earn money, which in turn can be used to upgrade your ability (if you ever played Baseball Stars on the NES where you upgraded players after each game, it's similar to that). Awesome game all the way around.
  12. Got a PS2 and the following four games: Gran Turismo A-spec NCAA March Madness 2002 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 All-Star Baseball 2003 How'd I do? Any hints/comments about the games? I love sports video games, and don't have the time or much interest in adventure/role-playing games. I'd also be interested in any thoughts on a good hockey title to rent before I buy.
  13. The best game of all time on that system was the Bird-Dr. J basketball game. It got rave reviews when it was released, and holds up very well to this day.
  14. I'll be the lone voice of dissent (as I often am) on this ambitious but too-complicated 7800 game... I think it's just like Super Huey helicopter simulation--no action to speak of, too hard, too many controls to be fun to play. If you loved the space shuttle simulation games on the 2600, then be sure and add this title to your collection TODAY. It's no fun playing a game that you have to memorize an instruction book to learn the controls of. Where am I flying to? How do I open the bomb bay doors again? How do I get the engine running? What do I do next?
  15. Realsports Volleyball, Surround, Realsports Boxing
