  1. Idunno. I feel that way about some consoles (although RF has been making a comeback lately in the retro circles), but I always liked Atari better with RF. A lot of the graphics are just wide, flat, one-colored pixels, and I like how the RF noise adds texture to it. Like, the Atari Flashback 2.0 is great, but it just looks so flat. I'm talking CRTs, though. I'm sure RF looks a lot worse if you're plugging it into things it should not be plugged into.
  2. Why not? My 600XL only outputs RF, and it looks fine.
  3. 8-bit is pretty neat. I have no idea what prices are looking at these days, but I would assume the 600XL would be the cheapest, since it's less desirable. Increasing the RAM is pretty easy, though. ...that mylar keyboard, though...
  4. I bought a bunch of those during the 3DS eShop shutdown sale. Pretty good so far, I can see why people love the series so much.
  5. Could always just swipe one from the Wii U. I've got a bunch of different styluses I've bought around the desk. I don't have any XLs, so the styluses that came with my 3/DSes are all pretty small. Some of them have the little string loops on them so you can hang them on a handheld.
  6. Oh, gotcha. I didn't have any problems with the menu, but I always use a stylus, not my fingers.
  7. Yeah, but it's good enough for jabs, and it's quite a workout after a bit. If it was more accurate, I'd probably get my butt kicked for having bad form >_< You can also hook up the balance board to use for dodging...that takes quite a bit to get used to.
  8. I finally checked it out last weekend, that is really cool. It's not quite as nice as the real thing, and seems like it was making me a little woozy, but it's really cool as far as emulation goes. Even the control settings aren't too bad with most games I tried. Seems like most games either rely on the right d-pad, or the B/A buttons, and not both at the same time. I didn't know there was an unreleased Faceball game for VB. I don't know how finished it is, but I played it for quite a while. I don't know if you figured this out already, but there's a much easier way to do it: Open FBI -> Remote Install -> Scan QR Code
  9. I still need to finish Odyssey, but I've been too busy with the Wii U lately.
  10. Oh, I don't know, there are tons of great emulators on the Wii. Most of the classics all support 240p mode...there are only a few that don't, like MSX or ZX-Spectrum. Yeah, emulators like NES allow you to hold the Wiimote sideways and use 1 and 2 as B and A. Not the most comfortable way to play, but it works decent enough for a lot of emulators. 3-button Genesis games, you might have to bind a lesser-used button to B or A. We got by with a few SNES games that way, but it's not ideal. Stuff like N64, you can use Wiimote + nunchuck. I'd really recommend getting at least one Classic Controller though, they're pretty nice. I ended up getting a Raphnet wired adapter so I can plug real S/NES controllers into the Gamecube ports, it's really nice, especially for things like Game Boy Player. One of these days I need to grab a Genesis/Atari one. I haven't played the Wiimake, but we tried the multiplayer in the original Prime 2 once, and it was pretty awful. Forced auto-aim + projectile weapons = you'll always miss unless your opponent is holding still. Pretty sure the GameCube versions already had widescreen support, BTW. Says they're both progressive scan compatible.
  11. There's also Wii Play, it's got a lot of arcade-style minigames. Punch-Out!! is awesome, but I don't know what the multiplayer is like. I thought Ghostbusters was fun in small doses, I bet it's more fun in mutliplayer. Rayman Raving Rabbids seems like it might be fun, but I didn't put a lot of time into it. I've heard good things about Wii Music, but never played it myself. I know some people love the racing games that let you use the Wiimote as a steering wheel, but I've not really been able to get into it. I use the Wii a lot for homebrew emulators, it has really good support for 240p mode on CRTs (if you're into that sort of thing).
  12. I saw this when it launched, but I still need to check it out >_< Crazy that it allegedly runs full speed even on an "old" 3DS.
  13. I feel like they didn't want too many competitors in the contest, and either they didn't realize how overboard they went with the difficulty, or they didn't want -anyone- to figure it out, and were shocked when people were able to just guess from the comic. After that they probably realized that they had to reconsider the rest of the games. If you have any ideas, I might be able to knock something together. For the first game at least...I'd have to learn the other two.
  14. I'm pretty sure they do that in Hero Mode on the HD remake. Kind of made me reluctant to try it...that mirror flip really messes with my head. I like that game a lot, but yeah, it is tough... Pretty fun in coop too.
