  1. OK, for real, I specifically remember reading in a video game magazine (can’t remember if it might have been Electronic Games or Video Games Player/Computer games) back in 1983-84 about one of the Activision designers (possibly one of the Kitchens?) mentioning tongue-in-cheek that he had wanted to make a game called “Smurficide.” It would have been in the “News and Notes” or similar section toward the front of the magazine. I specifically remember reading it off the newsstand at Osco Drug, but I didn’t buy it. I’m pretty sure I didn’t dream it! I had a lot of fun writing up descriptions of some of these games! • Hop around an electrified pyramid whilst shooting enemy robots with your nose laser • Read the daily newspaper strip for hidden clues to help you find the fabled Lasagna Sword • Assist your deputized porcine pals defuse bombs in WWII-era England • Board game mayhem in San Antonio! • Board game mayhem in São Paulo! • Herd up cobras, copperheads, and pythons, but watch out for the dreaded black mamba! By the way, I had a feeling that I didn’t quite get all the games out of the centrifuge, so I reached back in and I pulled out this gem: • Oscar’s Death Trap I also pulled out a couple more where I couldn’t quite make out the label. But oddly enough, I do have the descriptions. • Help your gumshoe chum advance one lap around a crude racetrack very, very slowly in his ramshackle jalopy by solving arithmetic problems and collecting artifacts to defeat his arch-nemesis Henri Le Fiend. • You control a baby green biplane (who can’t yet fly) climb vines and chains to rescue his poppa, a giant pink biplane bomber, from the clutches of a vengeful tank. Along the way, you’ll drop fruit on enemy jet fighters, but you can also shoot them directly or with ricochet shots. Can anyone help me figure out what these are?
  2. There we go, that's what I'm talking about!
  3. In a freak mishap, I accidentally tossed a bunch of different Atari 2600 games into an industrial centrifuge and just spun them around for a while. What emerged afterward is quite interesting: • G.I. Joust: Gopher Strike • Strawberry Steeplechase • Circus Attack • 3-D Tic-Tac-Turmoil • Wizard of Warlords • Canyon Frogger • Engorfed • Pele’s Backgammon • Texas Checkers Massacre • Pacfall! • Ms. Pacfall II: Lost Castles • Oink 500 • Megamalagai • Custer’s Egg Catch • Smurf Zapper • Lochjawbreakout • Beefsteak Math (a.k.a. Fun With Nexar) • I Want My Mappy • Q*zerk • Pigs in London • Ssstampede • RealSports Halloween • Kool-Aid Superman • Swordquest: Garfield • Bump ‘n’ Boing • Tanks But No Wabbit • Bachelor Programming • Rubik’s Apprentice • Porkslinger • Tutankhaboom! • B.R.I.D.G.E. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else?
  4. Hello everyone, I have some Atari Jaguar games (and some cables) up on eBay: CIB games: • Space Ace • Atari Karts • Highlander • Myst (the journal is filled in) • Rayman • Wolfenstein 3D • Tempest 2000 • Baldies • Ruiner Pinball • Zool 2 Boxed, no instructions: • Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands CD • Alien vs. Predator (DOES include the overlays) Loose: •Syndicate Cables: • S-Video Cable (RIX C.A.T., not Atari) • A/V Cable (Atari) I do have several other Jaguar games that still haven’t been listed yet. I am not selling these directly, but rather through a consignment seller. Hopefully he will get the rest of my stuff up soon. Rather than laboriously getting the links for each individual auction, I’ll just provide the link to my consignment seller’s items for sale page: https://www.ebay.com/sch/centralpaymentservices/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= All of the Jaguar and Nuon items on there are mine, as well as all of the comic books/magazines/graphic novels (and lunchbox). Everything else is not my stuff. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks.
  5. Update #2: Both Stealth Controllers have sold, as well as Tempest 3000.
  6. Update: The Samsung N501 DVD player has sold. Everything else is still available. In addition, I was able to locate the cardboard inserts that originally came with the Stealth controllers. I passed those along to my seller and have asked him to update the listing to include a photo, but he hasn't updated it yet.
  7. Hello, I am in the gradual, painful process of selling my video game collection. First up, I have some Nuon items on eBay. (I am not selling them directly, but through a consignment seller.) I am the original owner of all of these items, having bought them all brand new in 2003. 8. Indy 500 is your game. Requires driving controllers (if you pick up Indy 500, make sure to get a working pair of those controllers). My brother and I had a blast playing that game when we were kids.
  9. Thanks, Mr SQL! And thanks Karl G for making this, I look forward to giving it a go! Absolutely it is a great example of the holiday spirit, I love this kind of stuff. Would love to see more (or, you know, some) games focusing on Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Tết, Lunar New Year, the works. Any and all suggestions are more than welcome! Merry Xmen!
  10. Hello there! I was just wondering if the ROMs for some Christmas-themed homebrews and hacks have ever been made publicly available at any point. Specifically: Holiday QB Christmas Adventure Santa Bros. Santa’s Scabs Santa’s Workshop Space Santa Just curious. Thanks! Merry Christmas and all the other holidays!
  11. Got it. Not sure why I wasn't smart enough to figure that out, but there you go. I thought I might have downloaded the wrong version or something. I'm just tickled to death to see the cement pie factory level on the 2600, as well as the elevator level. I really do prefer the Japanese order of the screens. I never knew why the U.S. arcade version was ordered so strangely.
  12. Very nice, and I am enjoying, but um, I only have one life. How do I select more? I tried the select switch and that selects the level. Am I missing something?
  13. Thank you, kenfused, from six years in the future. I just got my Atari 8-bit Ultimate SD Cart from MacRorie, and one of the very first games I tried was Gremlins, and I was disappointed that the sound was so wonky. I figured that someone had posted a fix here sometime over the years, and I found it here! I'll give this fixed version a try. By the way, another issue with certain 5200 games converted to 8-bit games is, what about games (such as Gremlins) that used the upper fire buttons? On this game, for instance, how do I use the flash cubes? Thanks!
  14. I've been wanting something like this for a very long time now but unfortunately I haven't been terribly active here lately, and I just now saw this. I am very interested. Am I too late? Please put me on a list. I will send a PM.
