  1. hey thanks for the links... I found these along time ago when I was working on my sega after burner..but for some reason couldn't find them as of late...thanks again for all of your help... now on to the sound problem on chase(or lack there of)..schematic should help a bunch
  2. here is just a little update on my progress. went through the whole machine last night (chase hq) and found two pins on the monitor harness that were completely gone. made a new harness for it a blam!@ we have color. now all i have to do is get the sound working. All I hear through the speaker when I turn them up is a hum, no sounds what so ever. other than that the the game works great....not bad for $20 well plus $3.00 in caps for the monitor. I also did some research on my sega thunder blade. I guess only the u.s version of the game was encrypted and people dumped the rom info. I read that you can replace the mc 68000 processor and then reburn the chips. well I have a spare 68000 and a chip burner now all I need is the files...right?? anyone ever done this.....
  3. yeah tell me about it!! am on the lookout for one now
  4. thanks for the info ...I started doing just that last night but didn't get very far as I happened to find one ceramic cap marked "B 181" that was broken not sure what the rating is on the cap though...any ideas? maybe 181 uf..but at what voltage I notice most of them are either 12v or 25v... thanks
  5. hey everyone, I just bought a sega thunder blade, taito chase hq and a ramtek clean sweep for $62. here is what I have found so far ....chase hq ..rebuilt the monitor works fine (little burn) got the game to play but it has no color ...I plugged it in to one of my sony pvm monitors as well to make sure it wasn't the monitor...no such luck ..nothing but green.. checked all of the wiring seems solid.. also has no sound..all controls work great and other than the fact that the game is green and has no sound it plays fine. anyone ever run into this problem?any suggestions?....next is sega thunder blade...suicide chip killed its self need a working board ..also seems to be missing a gear for the the x axis pot. on the joystick. anyone know where I can get a working board and gear?....lastly clean sweep probably won't do anything with this game but I figured the b&w monitor is worth the $20. if anyone is in albany ny area and wants to pickup some games cheap let me know and I can get you an email address or I'll even be the go between. one that stuck out in my mind was a crusin usa for $600. but he has a lot more games for much cheaper prices.
  6. if you want to do the art work yourself you could probably do it in like paintshop pro, photoshop, or corel and bring it to a sign shop and have them print it on vinyl and then put a clear vinyl over top. its strong and will last a good long time under normal use. going rate for the vinyl is about $20 per ft, printed. you could probably even have them install it if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. most good sign companies will give instructions on how to install if you ask. or if you are not artistically inclined have someone else do the art work and then take it to the sign co....hope this helps
  7. hey just checked out your page..nice stuff.. It is a very simular story to my own. except that I mostly repair and restore pinballs. but I also do arcades, redemption machines, jukeboxes. slot machines, vending machines, you know that kind of stuff. you sound like you have a good handle on a good number of machines. may I use you for info if a problem arrises? I will do the same for you.....ps excelent job on the burger time
  8. the cap ready ready to go boom is seems to be a common thing with this board. I have had to replace it on two seperate boards. well the one extra board I have does not score but if you are in a pinch and can't find one somewhere else then I could find the chip and replace it. in the mean time you my want to consider replacing the cap and see id that clears up any of the problems
  9. I remember playing the 2600 for the 1st time in 1981 at my best friends house. didn't get my own for another couple of years. aww the good ole days
  10. do you have the game and looking to replace a non working pcb? because I have one that works...well mostly... one of the counters is screwed up so it doesn't keep score. I know which chip it is I just never got around to replacing it because I got another board for the game. I have actually thought about getting rid of this game several times but never did because the cabinet is in such perfect shape.
  11. I used a data switcher for sharing printers to make a konami multi-game cab. a bit brain intensive but very cheap to do
  12. I believe it is an offical disc as to say its not a copy that someone made. how rare is stuff like this....if I could just have all my old systems back
  13. just a thought but you might also want to check the ground on the monitor. I am working on a multi-cade for a guy and had the same dull problem. I added an extra ground to the monitor and it cleared it right up.
  14. not really my bag but I was wondering if anyone is interested in a Kung Fu (1985) disc for the commodore 64? I used to have the system back in the day and I found it packed with my stuff from when I was younger. any offers welcome
  15. well I would say that you would probably do your self some good by giving your monitor a cap kit. next .. the control for briteness is just for that. I will make the picture briter but will not do anything to the color intensity. you my want to look up what kind of monitor( make and model) and look up the manual for it....and lastly just as a reminder.....monitor have some crazy f&*$ing voltage going through them so be very careful and stay as far away as possible from the tube. w.a
