  1. I would be very interested in one of these for sure
  2. @magnusfalkirk, @Bill Loguidice Both of those options seen good, I will give them a try when I get the chance.
  3. So my Apple //e just showed up today! I think I was able to get a relatively good deal. It's in very nice condition, and came with the 64k/80col card, a Super Serial Card as well as an IO controller card. One thing that it unfortunately did not come with was a Disk Drive. Many years ago I remember buying a lot of disk drives for various machines, I did remember a couple of Mac external drives so I decided to take a look and Lo and Behold I find a Disk IIc, which seems to have the same port as the IO controller. After a little research it at least seams that the IO controller is in fact a newer Disk Controller. I must say as the keyboard snob that I am, If I had known that the keyboard was as good as it was on the //e I would have picked one up ages ago!! It is simply the best stock keyboard on an 8-bit machine I have seen, I was planning on the clicky mechanical keyboard from MacEffects being one of my first upgrades, but the keyboard is so good that I might just get a couple of other upgrades first!! Everything seems to be working just fine, I haven't been able to test any of the cards that came with yet with the exception of the 80col card. Even with the Disk IIc though (If it works) I don't have a dos disk, but that's a problem for another day
  4. I have tried the same process with my Atari TT Language Disk which worked perfectly. So my process is ok
  5. Hey there everyone, I was finally able to get to a project that I have been looking forward to for awhile. Some time ago I was able to find a copy of sealed copy of Forth/MT for a reasonable price and since it does not appear to have been dumped I decided to pick it up. Unfortunately when I tried to run it my TT the disk would not read at all. Much more recently I was able to pick up a kryoflux and have been able to successfully make a flux image, with witch I was able to make an .stx image with Aufit. Upon trying the stx image on Hatari 2.40, I was unable to get it to run. I would click on the A drive, and while I would get the busy bee for a few seconds and then nothing. No errors no nothing, I am unable to even get a directory list. Just to make sure I made a flux image with another floppy drive with the same results. Now, while reading the manual I came across a line that states "The disk has about 220kb source text that TOS can't recognize" Now this of course wouldn't matter for the flux image, would converting from flux to stx possibly mess things up? Down below are the relevant part of the manual as well as my flux dump of the disk. Any help would be very much appreciated. forth_mt.7z
  6. Ha!i didn't see those because i was searching for Apple IIc+, Thank you for the catch
  7. A 2c+ would indeed be an awesome option. If you have any leads on one I would be very interested, unfortunately I have been unable to even locate one for sale! In my travels I ran across the Ultrawarp Accelerator and I see that it uses a 65816. What would that open up? Could I run prodos16 on a //e with a card like that? Is there any 16bit software written that could take advantage of it, or does it just act as a accelerated 6502? Speaking of expansion, what would you all say would be the mandatory modern expansions for the modern a2 enthusiast? I would like to use CP/M. I'm not sure however if I should get one of the PCPI/Applicard clones or just build a RC2014 system and use the apple as a terminal. This way of looking at it interests me and really made me start thinking in another direction. I may end up get that II+ motherboard kit eventually for that experience! Anyway I'm getting really excited about all of this. I decided to pick up the The New Apple II User's Guide. I have started cruising ebay, but the prices there are getting up there! If any of you all have any leads on a good system, I would be most appreciative.
  8. Wow I wasn't expecting this level of response, That is unfortunate, In my search I have found a couple of the PS2 -> A2 keyboard converters but none for //e -> ][+ Is is possible to run a IIgs as just a faster //e? Is is still able to run the older DOS3.3 stuff or is it limited to ProDOS and GS/OS? A IIgs with an Extended keyboard might scratch the itch. Is there a reason that no //e motherboard replacements exist? are they just common enough that no one has cared to do it yet? How does the keyboard on the normal //e compare with the Platinum's?
  9. Hey there everyone, Up until now I have mainly chilled in the Atari areas, but recently I have found myself wanting to get into the Apple ][. After a bit of research it looks like the best approach is to get either a //e or a IIgs for the greatest compatibility. However, while browsing I found this Apple ][+ motherboard kit which has really caught my interest. How much would I miss out on if I were to go the ][+ route? Also, I am rather fond of the mechanical keyboards and saw that recently MacEffects has released a rather nice ALPS //e keyboard. Is it possible, or is there an adapter for a //e keyboard to work on the ][+? What I am looking to do with the Apple is to of course play some games, as well as using it as a Serial Terminal for my linux box as well as some other older machines. Thank you all for your time.
  10. I would very interested in one of these for my TT as well.
  11. After some further testing. It seems that with HDDRIVER 11 at least, TOS 4.02 can support partitions of 1GB even as a boot volume.
  12. So turns out that I was running 4.02 and not 4.04 like I thought I was. So I made a new HD 512MB image just to speed things up. Took several attempts but finally Success!! It turns out that I had to turn off byte swap Thank you so much Chri!
  13. Hey there everyone. So I have been attempting to get my falcon up and running again. I set up a CF card with a 512MB C partition and 3 1024MB partitions and Installed HDDRIVER 11 to the C drive. Now this all works in Hatari, So I dd it over to a 4GB CF card and plug it into my falcon, and nothing. During my troubleshooting I took the CF card from my Amiga 600, imaged it and wrote it out to the same CF card I tried in the falcon. It worked flawlessly. I'm sure that there is some obvious step that I am missing here. Does anyone have an Idea where I might have gone wrong?
  14. Title pretty much says it all. Lost the spacers while I was mucking about in my falcon. If anyone has some spare spacers I would be very appreciative.
