  1. Many thanks! I'll check out that site. I got NES, Genny, and Lynx working. I'm wanting Sega CD, N64, and PS1.
  2. I've been looking all over the net for emulators for the PSP... Genesis, Sega CD, SNES, etc. It seems like a lot of the links I find are old or have older versions of emulators, some of which do not work on the slim PSP. Anyone know a good place to get emulators that will work on the Slim? I'm dying to play Shining Force 2, Shining Force CD, and some PSX games. How do I convert a PSX game of my own (on the original CD) to a format that the PSP can understand? THANKS TO ALL!!!
  3. The cartridge slot in the Saturn is notoriously bad. I own FIVE Saturn's for that very reason. It has nothing to do with how well the CD drive will last. the cartridge slot was made cheaply since Sega mostly expected people would buy a memory card or the modem and leave it in their throughout most of the systems life. If you are like me and switch between cards, action replays, RAM carts, the netlink etc it becomes a problem and the pins on the cart slot wear out. Ahh... that makes perfect sense then. I have been quite the switcher over the years. I finally got back to Shining Force 3 but had to go through 4 memory carts to find my old save. I'll bet that's what took it over teh edge. Is it hard to repair?
  4. Mine's on the way out, too. It's an oval button version that all of a sudden started having problems with any and all memory carts. It works fine without a memory cart but for how long?
  5. I went home to North Caroline for Christmas this year. My father dies earlier this year and my Mom has decided to move to a smaller place so the convenient storage unit I jave used for years (the attic) is now no longer an option. I found my old 5200 in a box with a roller controller, VCS adaptor, and an aftermarket joystick. I have one of Sean Kelly's old multicart's back home in Atlanta. I can't wait to hook this up and try it out!
  6. Really? I had no idea. I shall give it a try.
  7. I played the crap out of the 5200 version and finished it several times... even with the awful 5200 controller. I got so good I would spell out dirty things in the high score tables. The Gameboy version, on the other hand, is a complete nightmare. I can't make it past stage 2. This was a great series that was totally abandoned. I got all excited when I saw the pictures above... I thought there was a remake on the horizion. I can hope.
  8. You want to screw the Wii? Well, Nintendo will probably come out with an attachment just for that, possibly next year.
  9. I just bought the GBA game a few days ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I never played any of them and I'm looking forward to it. It's a shame they diodn't include part 4.
  10. I can certainly see Elevator Action, but Miner 2049'er on the Game Boy? Man, that game is BRUTAL. I was a wiz on the 5200 version (shite controller and all) but the GB game kicked my ass. I never made it past screen 2.
  11. I suppose they didn't add 6 button support because none of the 20 games require them.
  12. Frankly, the moral of the story I just got was "the wild is quickly turning into eBay"... And geez, please don't pay that much for a CD-i... if you can't talk him down to less than $50, it ain't worth it (And I'm one of the guys who LIKES the CD-i!) --Zero There's another moral to this story... bargain with the friendly person! I pointedly asked the *lady* for help and appealed to her motherly instincts with lots of "thank you dear's'" and big eyes and childlike enthusiasm. She responded well (not all of them do, but it never hurts to try). When I asked about pricing she pointed me the friendly-looking guy at the other end of the store, not the gruff dude at the register. He asked what I would give him for the 2 Pippin CD's and the 2 Sega CD games... I said $10, he came back at $20. I came back at $15, he came back at $20 with no tax. That was a great price just for the one Pippin game, even without the instructions. I'll make sure I talk to HIM when I go back. And I can point out that that CD-i system has been sitting on top of the tall display case for SEVEN YEARS. I kid you not! I still haven't heard from him... I may stop by this weekend and dig around. The 2 Pippin CD's MUST have come with the system originally but were separated by a thoughtless employee. There may be more stuff in the back. It's quite a disorganized place... I think they do a lot of business in guns, power tools, and porn. Figures.
  13. As I said, I'm waiting for the pawn guy to call me back with a price. Why buy a lone system when you can get the cords and cables? He's probably going to want an arm and a leg for it... he STILL has that CD-i system in the case, still priced at $200. If I go back for anything it will be that... the guy was in a negotiating mood and was pretty nice for a pawn shop employee. I seriously doubt I'll buy it anyway... I was really just posting to let other collectors know that there ARE treasures out there and to let another collector grab it if he/she wants. As for my Pippin going up in smoke... the only way that will happen is if my loft burns up. I haven't played that thing in forever. I enjoyed playing Marathon and seeing the beginnings of Halo but that is about all. There are 30 other FPS's that I'd rather be playing. And Racing Days is mediocre at best.
  14. THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT YOU ***CAN*** FIND RARE THINGS IN THE WILD! First time I've ever seen a Bandai Pippin anywhere in public.. It's an NTSC/USA edition, too. I saw it in a pawn shop in Atlanta, GA, in very busy Midtown. I hardly ever go to pawn shops anymore because they usually suck but I was feeling charitable today so I stopped by whilst doing errands and was helped by a very nice lady. It all started when I found a copy of "Racing Days" for the Pippin. It didn't have the instructions but it had the case so I got it as well as the OS for the Pippin in a loose CD case and a few tired Sega CD games. This is the first time I've seen a Pippin game in the wild. The boxes are made of cardboard but it wouldn't matter if they were made of steel and concrete... you still wouldn't find one When I went to pay for my stuff the nice guy at the counter asked if I even HAD a Pippin (a bizarre question for *anyone* to ask, and this guy was not even native to the United States). I said that I did and he pointed out the loose Pippin in the glass case. It was missing its attachments and controller but I told him what it was and described the controller (a boomarang with a track ball in the middle.) He mentioned that he had seen it and thought it was an odd PC controller. He said he was sure he could find the power cord for it... it uses standard red/yellow/white cords for connections. He's going to dig and see if he can complete it. I don't know what he wants for it but I'll check. I don't want it (I have one already and it's virtually impossible to find games for it) but these USA versions are RARE and anyone who lives anywhere near me is welcome to go get it. I'll even make some CD's for you.
  15. Oh goody! Looking forward to this one. I tried to put my collection in order this weekend... may have misplaced a few.
