  1. A serious congrats is in order! What region was this in? A little jealous no doubt but I can see it went to someone that appreciates it. I would absolutely love to get my hands on a nicely decked out C-Lab Falcon.
  2. I don't want to add feature creep or anything but if we are early in the idea phase... If a Mini ITX Style is chosen, a 5 1/4 bay PCB connected via an internal ribbon cable (or 2) & a 3d printable breakout box design would be excellent for cartridge, audio, headphone & controller ports. Somewhat along the lines of the old Creative Labs Audigy line. A 3d printable i/o shield would be rich as well. I don't know if a cable would mess with cartridge access times, however. A simple array of headers would allow the user to explore those options I guess. If this is going in a case, let's actually close the case, once assembled, and have everything accessible via the I/O shield and 5 1/4" bays so some of us can finally clean our desks.
  3. I'm blown away with the workmanship of the stuff I recently ordered. Nice work, Lotharek! Thanks for doing the wavetable stuff, especially. I got a few old PCs with lower profile soundcards that will love the midi upgrades. The MiST and the FUJInet are beautifully done. Shipping from Poland to Eastern Canada was faster than if I ordered from USA or Western Canada. Freaky fast! When the Side3s are ready I'll be doing another order for sure! Congrats on the birth of your daughter! Nice shot! Lol!
  4. I'd up the ram. I put in 32GB ram and a 1TB SSD in mine. It's definitely much faster than having OS on USB stick. Can play GTAV, Fallout 4 etc no problem. I can't remember how now but in the bios (once ram is upgraded) you can allocate more ram to the video. Some people found that increasing the wattage worked well, too. I haven't done that and haven't needed it. Up ram and allocate more to video? Yup. Install OS to an added SSD? Yup. The only tricky part is getting the OS on the SSD and installing a boot loader. It can be hairy so tread carefully there. Someone will chime in with some hints on that I'm sure. All the best!
  5. Indeed I've had to go that route in the past. Not pleasant at all. In Canada, we should be able to order direct from the site by now. Hopefully they will figure it out and get things moving.
  6. After thinking about it a while, I think it's a great idea. Hopefully the emulator is good etc. If anyone considers doing a full size machine, I vote for a mini/micro ITX/ATX capable 1450XLD. Barebones would be amazing with dual 5 1/4 bays for Bluray, audio breakout boxes etc. Hey, I can dream!
  7. Dear Atari, I'm in Canada, land of maple and bacon, just north of USA. It is 2024. You need to be able to ship to people on the same continent, at the very least. I know it's complicated with retail and distribution etc. But there has got to be at least 1 person in the organization that can arrange shipping agreements with FedEx/UPS/USPS. Logistics wins the war! I suspect it is a retailer protection thing, which is understandable, but not apparent to those affected. Otherwise it is probably a distribution thing. What do you need to fix this? You missed a tonne of direct orders from this household over the past few years. I've been throwing money at the screen over and over and it just falls to the floor. Still got what I was after but not without bruises and scratches all over. That guy Marko, behind the Circle K has a strange way of exchanging services for product. My lips are still numb. But it was worth it for the VCS 800. If you do get things fixed over there, you should also consider a gift option for orders as well. I've got a handful of people that would have each received 2600+ order confirmations for Christmas and maybe a 400 for their birthdays. As both a customer & shareholder I would love to see you succeed more than ever. Please work this out soon. I still love you, Noel
  8. I'm looking for one, similar to what Clint got there. Happen to have any working units? Also looking for the most current software. I recently tried placing an order for the software, thinking someone might still be managing distribution & licensing etc. No luck. Ended in a refund via paypal. The tech was wayyyyyy ahead of it's time. If it was released 10-15 years ago? There would be one on every song writer / home producer's desk right now.
  9. Kewl! I want! Though I would hate to be the one that would have to decide on a case design. At least with the C64 there's really only 1 style that everyone recognizes instantly. In this case (pun, yup!) if you picked 800, 800XL or 130XE, how many would be a little sad that their favorite 400, 600XL, 1200XL, 800XE wasn't chosen? OG vs XL vs XE. If I had to chose one, I think going with a 1450XLD design would be ideal. I imagine everyone would appreciate the sentiment & with that extra room under the hood, it would be popular for modding. Heck, while we're at it, in case (pun yup!) other companies are looking for something to do, think about a full scale micro atx or itx 1450XLD case with a rgb backlit mech keyboard. And don't forget to sell me a matching LCD monitor with speakers that fits perfectly on the top surface. One can dream! I Hope you are all doing great today!
  10. Thanks for the heads up. Great deal right there. Free shipping in Canuckistan as well from dell.ca.
  11. Nice! Will be buying when available. I love your work. Your SIO splitter is pretty awesome and TIDY! I strongly advise anyone with end chain devices to grab one while you can. With the way things are going over there with Ukraine there could soon be interruptions in mail service, not to be a fearmonger! Stay safe Lotharek!
  12. I'd go with a USB solution and, as the others said, destroy the ingot. They should be erased from history. One murdered my 130xe back in the early 90s before I learned to smash them to hell.
  13. I love Poland and its thriving Atari scene. 800XL though? I mean I get it, it was popular but... How about something mouth-wateringly Atariliscious? I'd REALLY love a 1450XLD build with a 65 or 75% mech keyboard. There would be lots of room for fitting Raspberry Pi / DE-10 to ITX, a couple 5 1/4 bay or a 5 1/4 bay with a PCI Riser in place of the disk storage area.Even a 3D printable model would be quite satisfying. I'd have a model built already but I'm less than a novice. 1450 case and that new monitor from the Amiga guys would be an incredible pairing. Cool news nonetheless! Maybe it will inspire someone to look at the 1450.
  14. I hear you about finding time. I think a lot of it is collecting for a rainy day or extended downtime as well as getting those forbidden jewels we dreamed of having as kids. I keep thinking there's soon coming a time when society is going to re-evaluate it's relationship with technology and seek simpler, less connected, solutions. Maybe the brewing Taiwan embargo will be the catalyst. Either way, Atari in all its forms is a great hobby space. I can honestly say that Atari Flashback Portable has officially replaced the shampoo bottle or gossip rags in the bathroom. I'm learning less as a result but hey. At least I played Atari most days haha. If the hot peppers have anything to do with it, I may play multiple times.
