  1. Sorry about that, the site is in desperate need of an overhaul (re-write) and recent upgrades to the host servers had meant that some aspects stopped working. However, I think the downloads should work now in most web browsers. If not, let me know! Thanks, Paul
  2. D'Oh - yeah - forgot about that. And the site will be updated very soon... honest - I'm working on it
  3. Found this document in my archives and though people might be interested in the XL/XE games proposed for release by Harlequin in 1990. Plastron and Zero War did materialise but I don't know if any others ever got off the drawing board? P harlequin.pdf
  4. Hi It is a good point, would be very useful to have an index (people are always asking me what issue their article may have appeared in!) but I'm not aware of a complete one that already exists. There was a pull out index in one of the early mags but it wasn't subsequently updated. I guess I was hoping that once all the mags were online in HTML then the search facility would take care of finding things, but this is looking like taking a few decades longer than I anticipated to complete! So if we started one .... how would people want it structured and with what info? There are a few possibilities - Issue, Author, Subject, Content Type, etc. Perhaps it should be a big spreadsheet that you can filter etc? As for the compilation, as already noted you can download the cover disks to get all the games; I guess the contents could be extracted and re-arranged to create a special games disk or suchlike but not sure it would be worth the effort? cheers P
  5. I will put my spare copies on eBay soon; this includes issues 1 and 2. As you say they are just photocopies, so prospective buyers will have to take my word for it that they're "original"! In the meantime if anyone does come across the incredibly rare Monitor disks or has any of the library programs then do let me know. I got in touch with Keith Mayhew a while back but unfortunately he didn't have further insights into what happened to the software when the club finished. P
  6. There was no announcement. Les had good intentions to continue but simply couldn't finance it any longer - he spent the following years paying off the debts. I think I mentioned here before that issue 86 was actually pretty much complete. The DTP files were on Les's hard drive for years afterwards but eventually, thinking nobody could possibly be interested, he wiped the disk clean and sold it on eBay :-( P
  7. Nope didn't think that. Anyway, in the meantime you can read the final issue 85 here if you want: Page 6 issue 85 P
  8. Thanks. The HTML version takes a lot of effort and keeps getting put off, but I will definitely be putting PDF versions of each mag online very soon (expect to see some progress before Christmas). Although certain people have created Page 6 scans elsewhere they weren't the right resolution or quality for online display purposes, so unfortunately I'm having to do em again. P
  9. Just to let you know you can now read all 21 issues of the club magazine online, here: www.ukatari.org (choose "Online Archive" and click on the cover) P
  10. I just hope issue 86 is worth the wait. Incidentally, when I went to see Les a few years back (and he handed me his disk libraries for the Page 6 website) I asked him about the existence or otherwise of the unpublished issue 86. Apparently, when Page 6 folded, issue 86 was virtually complete. The desktop publishing files had remained on the hard drive of Les's Atari Mega ST set up for years, right up until a few months previous to when I caught up with him. Unfortunately, he had decided to sell off all his remaining Atari hardware and wiped the disk clean before it was sold on eBay... and hadn't thought that anyone could possibily be interested in the data! So, lost forever I'm afraid :-( Rgds P
  11. [quote name=Sub(Function()' date='Thu Jun 10, 2010 7:00 PM' timestamp='1276192837' post='2028920] have look Here, there are no PDFs but there are some old issues, converted to html and it does have both the cover disk and PD libraries Hi folks! Just to let you know that we will be adding PDF versions of Page 6 for you to read on the page6.org site in the forseeable future (as well as adding some more issues). There have been too many other distractions recently but I'm determined to finish the project. Incidentally, the scanning resolution of the pages for this purpose is very important. I have a DVD that someone else produced with a copy of every issue, but the resolution wasn't right for OCR or for viewing in PDF format, so I am having to do them all again. Just something to check before you put lots of effort in. Oh, also we'll be adding PDFs for the UK Atari Owner's Club/Monitor mags very soon (many of these have been done now... just got to put them online). Cheers Paul R p.s. in the meantime, if anyone wants a Page 6 tee-shirt I see that Les Ellingham is selling some on eBay!!
  12. Zip file containing ATRs attached Cheers P AUDisks.zip
  13. Hi I have got all issues of the Database Publications' Atari User disks from Vols 1 and 2, and some from Vol 3. Also the various "10 of the best" disks. I'm not sure that later issue disks necessarily exist as they went over to posting files on the "Microlink/Telecom Gold" service (did anyone download them?) I could let you have the ATRs... + I'd be interested if anyone has got anything that I haven't ... Paul R page6.org
  14. Is Monitor exclusively about the Atari 8-bits? Do you know of any scans I could look at online so I can check it out? Thanks. I always thought Monitor was a bit overly technical but I suppose it just depends what you want to read! I will most probably put scans of Monitor on the www.ukatari.org site, and scans of Page 6 on the www.page6.org site eventually (as well as the OCRed text) ... it's more a question of finding time to do everything rather than any technical issues! A Database Publications' Atari User site is in planning too, although you can already see the cover scans here: www.page6.org/au_scans.htm Paul R www.page6.org
  15. Ah yes, silly me. Should have realised that but it's been a long time since I last used it! Thanks VM. Rgds P
