  1. Hey Atari! Maybe this would be a good time to see if Warner Games is for sale? Keep acquiring those retro IPs and put them to use! In all seriousness, I would hope that the money that was being used to get the Warner license could be put to other AAA titles (Capcom games?), and not so much buying up a bunch of lesser known titles, indie releases, and unreleased games. Quality over quantity.
  2. It appears that Antstream lost the license to the Warner Bros. games, so there goes all the Midway titles like Defender, Joust, Rampage, Mortal Kombat, Smash TV, just to name a few. Pretty big hit. Here we are a few months later and nothing other than a 'soon to be announced' update on the Namco titles as well. Hoping that they don't lose out on any other of the bigger named publishers.
  3. I find it crazy that a lot of the board game compilations normally have crazy low ratings. You would think that of all the different types of games and AI needed to play all sorts of MUCH more complicated titles, that it would be easiest to at the very least get the simple Uno, Battleship, Boggle, Monopoly type games right.
  4. Its a shame that they lost the Namco games pretty much immediately after launch. I'd say that was one of the largest draws were the Namco titles. I'm more than happy to play all the Taito and Midway games, but advertising all the new ways to play Pac-Man (with challenges) and having it taken away was a bummer. I've read that Antstream is trying to take care of the issue, but its one of those things where you would have thought it would have been addressed before launching.
  5. I don't see this as very similar to the external HD DVD drive they made. Once that media war was figured out, it made that mostly obsolete, where this drive wouldn't be trying to boost a different format, it would be there to play media and games. As for the price that was mentioned above, $250 would be a definite no go. That is WAY too high of a price point and that would for sure not sell. Thats the current black Friday price of the Series S itself. I was thinking somewhere maybe around the $150 price, or maybe a touch lower? I have no idea how much it would cost Microsoft to manufacture such an item? I'm not sure what percentage of the people who purchase a Series S would be interested in a drive, but if there is potential for money to be made on one, I don't see why Microsoft would be highly opposed to selling one. People who own the S are going to still be purchasing Gamepass. This drive won't be hurting that. Its a loyalty thing for the consumer, and a way to make profit from hardware for Microsoft.
  6. I purchased the Bases Loaded at Target a month or so back when they were on clearance. I think I paid around $12, but sadly the screen when bad on it almost immediately. It didn't go out, but it went so very bright, that you can hardly make out what is going on. I wish it would have had a contrast wheel to maybe help out the problem, but unless someone could provide help, its just a somewhat interesting paperweight/poor mans flashlight.
  7. I know there were some rumors a few months back about the possibility of a disc drive being available for the series S so that legacy media could be played on said system. Since then, I have heard next to nothing about it. I know I have a backlog of some original xbox games that I would like to play without hooking up the old system. I also wouldn't mind having something to play blu-rays and (gasp) and actual music CD, seeing I don't even have anything like that on my current media setup. Are there any other Series S owners that heard this and was somewhat interested? Is there a price point that you think this would work, or maybe would be too much?
  8. I thought with some time, the price would maybe go down? Looks as though it went up $20 though to $149 for the Pong experience.
  9. Walmart.com has a heck of a deal on the Legends Gamer Pro as of this message. $99. As someone who was a big fan of the Taito collections in the PS2 era, I went for it and one will be on the way this next week.
  10. I mean, it looks very pretty, and I'm sure the build quality (at that price) is quite nice. Not sure if the collect-ability factor is is high as the new Nintendo Game and Watch. At $129, for the regular guy, its not really an impulse buy, I wouldn't think? Perhaps it is more of a high end novelty? Something to show off how much expendable income you have? If it was truly something for fans of Atari or Pong, maybe they could have made something a bit more affordable? I was thinking before the price dropped that maybe this would be something fun for my daughter and I to enjoy. Oh well, like I said, its pretty to look at.
  11. I opted for other, cause I dropped a bit too much time in Animal Crossing a few years back.
  12. Anybody still playing this? I started up on the PS3 again. I own all that it had to offer for that platform (seasons 1-6). Still a mighty good time. Wondering if its worth downloading the Pinball FX on the PS3 and trying out those games?
  13. Drats, I was about to drop a lot of Midway, Capcom, Atari, Namco and Taito Arcade compilations on the list for the ultimate list... but yeah, it is kinda cheating (although that PS2/Xbox era when you'd get 20+ games on a disc for $20-$30 was incredible) Anyways, here goes (in no particular order) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) Need For Speed Hot Pursuit II (PS2) SimCity 3000 (PC) Wii Sports Resort (Wii) Star Wars Battlefront (Xbox) Animal Crossing (GameCube) ESPN NFL 2K5 (Xbox) Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) Doom (PC) Grand Theft Auto Vice City (PS2) Quite a bit more heavy for that early to mid 2000's era than I originally expected... but that's kinda my gaming wheelhouse, so it isn't too shocking. On a side note, if I could have the Pinball Arcade on the PS3 (granted, its a compilation of pinball machines) I'd add that in a heartbeat! Edit: Probably take out SMB3 for a Tetris game. I love Tetris and it would be more enjoyable over Mario in the long run.
