  1. No key? All you needed was a bobbie... or not! ðŸĪĢ
  2. I've been trying! Just haven't been able to beat @globeron's high yet. ðŸĪŽðŸ˜€
  3. A non-working keyboard in this particular instance (cheap as chips membrane vs. mechanical - c'mon!) is a shame* and seems to me a missed opportunity. Still, nice to see the 400 getting some love! 👍 *not expecting any real performance out of such a tiny keyboard of course, but would have been nice for the basics - incl. start, select, option, numerals, spacebar etc.
  4. I can admit defeat @Smoker Ace, 36620 is an awesome score! Would have liked to have seen a gameplay vid of you achieving that. ha I know placing more arrows down helps boost points, as well as getting the flags in order and directing the car to run over baddies - but damn. 😀
  5. What a surprise and gift indeed. Thank you @Tursi Easily my favorite version of Mario Bros., such a blast to play. And on the TI-99/4A! 93,190 ...finally took a serious stab at a decent score after reveling in the awesomeness which is this port. ðŸĪĐ
  6. Same here. Was all excited and intrigued... never heard of BigPEmu, so looked it up and 😔 Almost makes one want to taint a Mac and finally try a dual-boot scenario. Almost. 😁
  7. Ooooh, I likes a good conspiracy theory! Haven't noticed a lot of negativity regarding the 2600+, but I did notice most of the winners from that drawing on Monday are (sans eightbit) either brand new or relatively new users. Hmm... now that's curious! ðŸĪ”😂
  8. @Thomas Jentzsch, thank you for releasing! Agree about the aesthetic prefs [in that old school kinda way] vs. Champ's version and is a LOT more fun compared to Coleco's prototype now. Saw how this is version 1.02... any chance for any more updates or are you done with it? Would be damn near "perfect" if your car crept up the screen a bit when cruising at top speeds, but not as far as Champ's though - which going by gameplay vids, seems to reduce the effective playfield a little too much IMO. Lots to love as-is here so please don't get me wrong. Probably no small thing else it might've already been done... just think the car creeping up a bit might help convey more of a sense of momentum and arcade accuracy anyway. Well, that and paddle control would be like whipped cream and a cherry on top of an already great sundae. 🙂
  9. I remember the Apple ][ Choplifter being kinda special BITD. Seemed a great "hi-res" fit for the system and the two button play was fancy. Wouldn't have thought the 2600 could pull off the smooth and detailed animation of the tiny hostages back then, but looking at the screen shots, probably wrong about that. Regarding the single button play, imagine a long(er) button press would turn your chopper, while a quick burst type press would fire.
  10. Finally had a chance to play the latest version for a bit on my TI-99/4A w/ 32K external and holy cow! The jaw dropping levels of detail that went into this is truly off the charts. All the "little" to major stuff and everything in between such as the stylish opening animation upon startup, graphics and color choices (of absolutely everything ...but esp. buildings, cars, ghosts, equipment, title screen, etc), full version of the hit song that elegantly fades before repeating, and the sampled speech which is extremely clear and integrates perfectly. Haven't followed the super quick progress as much as I would have liked, but it's obvious that such care, love and expertise was put into this game. Almost unbelievable what machine we're enjoying it on. 😎 So far, the game hasn't crashed on me. Only thing I noticed that's hardly worth mentioning, is how it can be a little tough to navigate streets (mostly horizontal?) while in map mode. By that I mean the cornering can be a little sticky and requires exacting precision before you find the entry. Only talking map mode of course, so no big deal if it is what it is. Edit - I see the cornering comment/trick SteveB mentioned and will give that a try next time I boot it up. Will be spending more time with this in the coming weeks, but as of now - looks to be my favorite version of the game! Such a treat, and easily among the very best of the best TI games I've ever had the pleasure to play. Thank you @TheMole and everyone else that had a hand with feedback and in developing!! 😀
  11. Inspired to try some 45rpm adapters for good luck this time and it worked, thanks @Smoker Ace! 😀ðŸĪĢ 17880.
  12. First I'm hearing of this game (looks interesting), but I have 45rpm adapters and velcro at the ready... ðŸĪĢ
